  • Patent number: 9798384
Abstract: A method and an apparatus of tracking an eye gaze to determine where a gaze point of a user is located on a display unit of a device, based on a facial pose and a position of an iris center, are provided. The method includes detecting a facial feature in a captured initial image, three-dimensionally modeling the detected facial feature, tracking the three-dimensionally modeled facial feature in consecutively captured images, detecting an iris center in the consecutively captured images, acquiring an eye gaze vector based on the tracked three-dimensionally modeled facial feature and the detected iris center, and acquiring a gaze point on a display unit based on the eye gaze vector.

  • Patent number: 9569065
Abstract: A method for controlling an electronic device that executes and displays an application is provided. The method includes displaying an execution screen of the application on a touch screen, projecting and displaying a projection image corresponding to the execution screen of the application, displaying a pointer on the projection image, and moving and displaying the pointer on the projection image to correspond to a gesture detected on the touch screen.

  • Publication number: 20140300542
Abstract: A method for controlling operations of a portable device through a touch-free user input in the portable device having a projector module is provided. To this end, once the projector module is driven, an application execution screen is projected through the projector module, and if a proximity event is detected, a camera module is activated to acquire an image from which a user gesture is recognized. The pointer on the projected image is controlled corresponding to the user gesture. The user gesture is used to dispatch an application as well as to control the pointer. In this way, a user may view an image projected from the projector module of the portable device without jittering while intuitively manipulate the portable device without touching the touch screen, such that user convenience is maximized.
