  • Publication number: 20240138993
Abstract: An acetabular cup assembly for use with liners is described. The acetabular cup assembly includes a cup and a liner. The cup has an outer surface, a generally concave inner surface and a top face. The inner surface includes a cylindrical band having a plurality of inward-facing recessed scallops, a tapered wall adjacent to the band, and an inner spherical surface adjacent the tapered wall. The inner spherical surface has a substantially uniform radius of curvature. A single groove interrupts the spherical surface. The liner has a substantially convex outer surface and includes a rim and a plurality of outward-projecting scallops adjacent the rim. The scallops of the liner are configured to engage the scallops of the cup when the liner is seated in the cup. Related methods of use are also provided.

  • Patent number: 11831271

The facility has a designated generator step-up (GSU) transformer and is connected to the utility grid at a point of interconnect. The system includes a pre-insertion impedance injection transformer, a low voltage first switch connected between the pre-insertion transformer and secondary coils of the designated GSU transformer, a medium voltage second switch connected inline between the pre-insertion transformer and primary coils of the designated GSU transformer, and a controller. In response to restoration of the utility grid following a loss-of-grid event, the controller opens and closes the first and second switches according to an automated pre-energization switching sequence such that magnetic flux in the designated GSU transformer occurs at a reduced rate, thereby reducing inrush of current and undesirable power quality phenomena.

  • Publication number: 20070159763
Abstract: A system is provided for dissipating electrical charges that build on a rotatable shaft extending from an electrically-grounded motor housing or rotating shafts conductively linked to components that create and electrical charge, such as wind turbine blades, power generator turbines, and the like. The system includes a frame defining a central opening wherein the rotatable shaft is positioned with the central opening, a first grounding fiber secured within the frame, and a fiber clamp positioned with the frame. The fiber clamp acts to urge the first grounding fiber toward the central opening. The system may also include a mounting bracket having a frame mounting channel, wherein a portion of the frame is securely retained within the frame mounting channel, and an installation guide positioned on the mounting bracket. The installation guide may be configured to properly align the frame and the first grounding fiber relative to the rotatable motor shaft.

  • Publication number: 20070110615
Abstract: An auto-calibration system for diagnostic test strips is described for presenting data individually carried on each test strip readable by a diagnostic meter. The carried data may include an embedded code relating to data particular to that individual strip. The data is presented so at to be read by a meter associated with the diagnostic test strip in order to avoid manually inputting the information.

  • Publication number: 20060189895
Abstract: A system for diagnostic testing may include a meter for performing a test on a sample applied to a test media and a selectively closable container configured to house test media compatible with the meter. The system may also provide mechanisms for removing a meter from a test container and reattaching it to a new one using one of several coding methods that recalibrate the meter for the new container of test strips. Alternatively, the system may include an auto-calibration system where data is provided individually on each individual test medium in a form readable by the test meter. The carried data may include an embedded code relating to data particular to that individual strip. The data is presented so as to be read by a meter associated with the diagnostic test strip in order to avoid manually inputting the information. In addition, the system may further provide mechanisms to reconfigure the meter to perform a new function when it has been determined that a triggering event has occurred.
