Abstract: Apparatus for the positioning of heavy objects, particularly rolls of paper or other weblike materials, comprises a clamping device for the object to be positioned, e.g., turned over, as well as a swivel mechanism, in which arrangement the clamping device is firmly connected with a circularly bent roll bracket which is movably guided in an appropriately constructed curved guidance of the swivel mechanism and whose center of curvature lies in the common center of gravity of the object to be positioned and the moving parts of the swivel mechanism. For purposes of weight-unburdening of the empty apparatus, a traction drum is pivoted on a bolt in the tackle block, which drum is prestressed by a coil spring fastened on the bolt and on the inner wall of the traction drum, and also a traction rope which can be wound up on the traction drum is attached to a holding fixture of the clamping device.
