  • Patent number: 7774947
Abstract: A tool and method for making precision cuts with conventional saws and other woodworking machines. The shape of an inside or outside corner of a construction, such as a wall construction, is obtained with the tool, and the tool is used to as a guide to set the blade of the cutting apparatus to the proper cutting position. The tool may be used to indicate the mitre cuts for both inside and outside wall corners without having to measure the angle with a measuring tool and determine the precise degrees of the angles to be cut.

  • Patent number: 4662085
Abstract: A pin oven is disclosed for curing coated or decorated can bodies travelling in a serpentine path wtih jets of a curing medium. The pin oven chamber is divided by an interior louver wall into a curing medium supply plenum chamber and a curing chamber. The cans move through the oven on a pin conveyor and jet nozzles in the louver wall are arranged in a pattern for instantaneously confronting moving can bodies with substantially the same number of nozzles for immersing the can bases in a substantially uniform air stream in order to minimize can flip-flopping on the pin conveyor in order to achieve oven speeds in excess of 1000-1200 cans per minute. The louver wall is provided with chambers for uniformly distributing the pressure and velocity of air jets to reduce the tendency of cans to pulsate as they pass through the oven. The louver walls are of modular construction for application of the oven to a variety of can sizes and decorating or coating technologies.

  • Patent number: 4037383
Abstract: An improved metal grating employs a series of parallel bearing bars and cross bars passing laterally through longitudinally spaced holes in the bearing bars. Separate spacer members are provided for maintaining spacing between adjacent pairs of bearing bars. The spacers conform to the shape of and may positively engage a cross bar. The cross bars are fabricated having a length shorter than the total of the width of all the bearing bars and spacer members comprising the grating so that when securing means are tightened to locate the cross bars within the grating, the sides of the bearing bars are brought into compressive contact with the edges of the spacer members.

  • Patent number: 3955800
Abstract: A railing construction is disclosed including an extruded aluminum post comprised of concentric inner and outer rectangular tubes. A top railing plate member has a flat plate portion overlying the upper end of the post, and the plate portion has a rectangular aperture therethrough in alignment with the inner tube of the post. An expandable fastener of rectangular cross-section is received in the aperture and inner tube to interconnect the post and plate member. The top railing includes a U-shaped cover extending across the post and releaseably interengaged with the plate member. The railing construction preferably includes a lower railing and vertical pickets in the form of rectangular tubes interconnected with the top and lower railings by means of expandable fasteners.

  • Patent number: 3949836
Abstract: Ladder structures are disclosed comprising a pair of side rails and a plurality of tubular extruded aluminum rung members extending therebetween. The opposite ends of each rung are interconnected with the corresponding side rail by means of an expandable fastener extending through an opening in the rails and into the rung end. The openings in the rails and rung are non-circular and the corresponding portions of the fastener are non-circular, whereby rotation of the fastener and rung relative to the side rail is precluded.

  • Patent number: 3940900
Abstract: A frame assembly is disclosed for supporting a panel which together with the frame provides a partition or divider structure. The frame assembly includes a pair of upright frame members of extruded aluminum and a pair of horizontal frame members of extruded aluminum. The upright members are provided with opposed pairs of polygonal openings therethrough, and the horizontal members include a tubular portion complementary in polygonal cross-section and dimension with respect to the openings in the upright members. Expandable fasteners of complementary cross-section are inserted through the openings and expanded to interconnect the horizontal and vertical members. The horizontal members include integral pairs of flanges providing opposed recesses for receiving corresponding edges of a panel supported by the frame assembly.
