Abstract: According to one aspect, a system and method of exchanging GRUUs (Globally Routed User Agent URI (Uniform Resource Identifier)) between a first telephony-enabled device and a second telephony enabled device using a circuit-switched message is provided. Once exchanged, the telephony enabled devices can exchange SIP (session initiated protocol) communications routed by the GRUUs. Any one of the telephony-enabled devices can add a media component to the SIP communications. According to another aspect, a system and method of generating GRUUs is provided. According to another aspect, a system and method of handing off communications to a packet switched network from a circuit switched network is provided.

Abstract: A method at a computing device within an Intelligent Transportation System, the method including detecting a traffic event at the computing device; determining no fixed roadside unit is available from the computing device; establishing an Internet Protocol connection from the computing device to a network node; and sending a traffic event message from the computing device to the network node, the traffic event message providing information for the traffic event.

Abstract: A method for performing initial registration is provided. The method includes receiving a server timeout message, the server timeout message including at least a field set to a value equal to a value received during a first registration. The method further includes initiating restoration procedures by performing an initial registration.

Abstract: In some examples, a user equipment (UE) detects a change in a radio access technology, and in response to the change in the radio access technology, receives information sent by a wireless network. The UE compares the received information to a policy to determine whether a feature is supported by the wireless network, and based on the comparing, sends an indication informing the wireless network which network type of plural different network types to use for sending a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) message.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes methods and systems for establishing a Session Initiation Protocol Session. One method includes transmitting a first message requesting authentication configuration information; in response to the first message, receiving a second message that includes the authentication configuration information; transmitting a third message that includes authentication information based upon the received authentication configuration information; receiving an authentication challenge request that is formatted according to the second protocol; and in response to receiving the authentication challenge request, transmitting an authentication response to the second network node.

Abstract: Systems and methods to configure sidelink resources in a dual connectivity operation are provided. In some aspect, a method comprising: transmitting, from a user equipment (UE), a first message to a first evolved Node B (eNB), wherein the first message indicates a request to establish a sidelink communication; receiving, at the UE, a second message from the first eNB, wherein the second message indicates a frequency that is used by a secondary evolved Node B (SeNB); transmitting, from the UE, a measurement result to the first eNB; and receiving, at the UE, sidelink configuration information from the first eNB, wherein the sidelink configuration information indicates sidelink resources managed by the secondary eNB.

Abstract: A method, computer program product and a user equipment (UE) are provided for assisting a user equipment (UE) in selecting a network function. A first message is received from the UE. The first message includes UE request capabilities. A second message is sent to the UE. The second message includes an indication that promotes the UE attempting to connect to a particular Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) using a network function belonging to the particular PLMN.

Abstract: In various aspects, a system that receives a first message, wherein the first message comprises a communication device identification and a feature tag having a language indication that indicates a language configuration of a user equipment. In response to the receiving the first message, storing the language indication and associating the language indication with the communication device identification. The system determines whether an incoming call is not authenticated and in response to the determining that the incoming call is not authenticated, transmitting a textual message to the communication device using the language configuration to indicate the incoming call is not authenticated.

A determiner determines whether the interworking wireless local area network is directly connected to the home network. And, responsive to the determinations, an identifier identifies the cellular communication system network associated with the interworking wireless local area network.

Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods to increase battery life of a user equipment (UE) by reducing the amount of time a UE spends in active time listening for paging messages following mobile originate (MO) or mobile terminated (MT) data transfers. A network node may receive, from a UE, a message including an identifier of the UE and a request to set the duration of an active time timer to zero. The network node may determine whether any MT traffic is available for the UE, and send a message to the UE including the duration of the active time timer or some other indicator to indicate to the UE whether or not MT data is awaiting transmission.

In response to determining that the first message has failed the security check, the ME sends a second message to the VPLMN, the second message including an indication that the first message has failed the security check.

Abstract: An apparatus, and an associated method, for facilitating communication operations with a wireless device that is ICS or DTM capable. Signaling protocols and apparatus are provided for operation of the wireless device when an ICS with the wireless device is ongoing, and the device leaves an area that provides for ICS as well as when the ICS can be provided using circuit-switched connections.
