  • Patent number: 11978300
Abstract: A single space parking meter assembly for retrofitting onto an existing coin vault assembly includes a number of parking meter components enclosed within a protective outer covering that is rotatably or slidably engageable with the coin vault assembly when a bottom surface of the protective outer covering is positioned against or adjacent to an upper surface of the coin vault assembly. A locking mechanism secures the protective outer covering to the coin vault assembly when the protective outer covering is engaged with the coin vault assembly.

  • Patent number: 11972654
Abstract: A parking meter may have a housing that is formed at least significantly of an impact resistant material. In particular, the impact resistant material may comprise one of a polycarbonate copolymer or polycarbonate blended resin, a nylon-based copolymer, or a nylon-based polymer that includes long glass fiber or Kevlar fiber. The housing encloses the parking meter components to provide protection for the parking meter components against an external environment and vandalism attacks.

  • Patent number: 8523575
Abstract: A method of testing and improving recall information using an automated device. An item of information is connected to an initial prompt by a relationship link. The device presents the initial prompt to the user who recalls information and links to the prompt. The device reviews the information and links and the user compares the reviewed intended information with the recalled information. The user provides inputs to the device indicating an ability to recall the information and links. The inputs provided by the user are used to calculate a re-testing interval for each item of information. The device automatically re-test the user after the interval calculated for each item of information has elapsed. A longer interval is used for items of information recalled exactly than the interval for items of information not recalled exactly. At re-testing information not yet done for re-testing is presented to the user.

  • Publication number: 20090212514
Abstract: The Creeper Dolly is for the use of moving heavy objects by placing them on Creeper Dolly and wheeling it to the desired location. The invention could also be used as a creeper to allow an individual to freely slide underneath a vehicle or into confine areas while working and performing various task. Made of two major components, the wheel base and resting board, the Creeper Dolly is able to adjust to accommodate various size objects or individuals by expanding the landing area in which the object or individual would rest upon. By extending and retracting the wheel base's lattice style structure in a scissor like manner, the wheel base could increase and shorten in length. Once the desired length of the wheel base as been reached, the resting board is to be laid on the wheel base to provide a comfortable resting place for an individual or object.

  • Publication number: 20060167414
Abstract: A syringe pump has a pusher (86) that pushes in the plunger (81) of a syringe (8) to dispense medication. A pivoted barrel size sensor arm (201) engages the syringe barrel (82) at one end (203) and carries three flags (207, 208 and 209) at the other end (205), which move across three sensors (217, 218 and 219) such that each sensor can change from a first state to a second state and back to a first state as the arm moves, to provide nine different size outputs.

  • Publication number: 20060149806
Abstract: The present invention provides an improved technique for accessing information in a peer-to-peer network. According to specific embodiments of the present invention, each file accessible in the peer-to-peer network is assigned a respective hash ID or fingerprint ID which is used to describe the contents of that file. Files in the peer-to-peer network may be identified and/or accessed based upon their associated hash ID values. In this way it is possible to identify identical files stored in the peer-to-peer network which have different file names and/or other metadata descriptors. Since the content of all files having the same hash ID will be identical, an automated process may be used to retrieve the desired content from one or more of the identified files.

  • Patent number: 5852435
Abstract: A digital multimedia newsroom production system allows users of the system to create, browse and catalog multimedia assets. The system includes a journalist workstation for accessing multimedia assets stored in a multimedia archive to create a multimedia storyboard of a news story to be broadcast from the system. The storyboard includes frames of video retrieved from one or more sources, and text retrieved from one or more sources or generated by a user of the journalist workstation. In one embodiment of the invention, multimedia data captured by the newsroom production system undergoes a dual digitization process to create a high resolution version of the media data and a low resolution version of the media data. The low resolution version of the media data can be efficiently stored in the system and may be transmitted over a low-bandwidth network to the journalist workstation for use in the creation of a storyboard.
