  • Patent number: 10863347
Abstract: A policy enhancement for mixed capabilities of devices may include a first User Equipment (UE) that publishes to a presence server via an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) Core network and a Rich Communication Services (RCS) node. A second UE may subscribe to the first UE by requesting information about the first UE from the presence server. The presence server may determine that the first UE is one of multiple instantiations of a same device. The presence server may determine that a third UE is another instantiation of the same device as the first UE, and that the third UE is a lesser-capable device (e.g., non-Universal Profile enabled) with respect to the first UE. The presence server may send a notify message including a capability indicator associated with the third UE to the second UE, and/or the notify message may omit a capability indicator associated with the first UE.

  • Publication number: 20200359179
Abstract: When a Rich Communications Services (RCS) data file is to be provided to a terminating user equipment (UE) that is on a different mobile communications network than an originating UE, the network address, or uniform resource locator (URL), of the RCS data file may be modified to indicate that the RCS data file is to traverse a network-to-network interface (NNI). An RCS system on the originating mobile communications network may identify if the terminating UE is on the same or different mobile communications network. If the terminating UE is on a different mobile communications network, then the RCS system may modify the URL to indicate the originating and terminating mobile communications networks and send the URL to an RCS system of the terminating mobile communications network. The modified URL enables retrieval of the RCS data file network by a content system of the terminating mobile communications network.

  • Patent number: 10805791
Abstract: A telecommunication network provides telecommunication service to a user equipment (UE) and a communication device that is connected to the telecommunication network via a private branch exchange. Both the UE and the communication device utilizing a Mobile Station International Subscriber Directory Number (MSISDN) for the telecommunication service, and the telecommunication network stores a profile associating both the UE and the communication device with the MSISDN. Additionally, the telecommunication network enables communication between the communication device and a communication partner device and notifies the UE of the communication.

  • Patent number: 10715558
Abstract: Systems and methods directed to discovery by a user equipment (UE) of a bot functionality available from an entity during a call set up between the UE and the entity are provided. The UE may initiate call the entity, for example a business, using a session initiation protocol (SIP) in a communication network, and, as a part of SIP signaling, an operator of the communication network may add to a SIP header a profile of the bot functionality offered by the business, which is forwarded to the UE. Once the UE processes the information included in the profile, the UE and the business may communicate using the bot functionality.

  • Patent number: 10476822
Abstract: Systems and methods for transferring files between message session relay protocol (MSRP) and hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) enabled devices. The system can use a rich communication services (RCS) server to receive messages, look up receiving device configurations, and convert, as necessary, messages between MSRP and HTTP. The system can include a file server to store and compile files during the transfer process. The RCS server can receive an HTTP message from an HTTP enabled sending device, divide the HTTP message into a plurality of discreet MSRP data packets, and send an MSRP request to an MSRP enabled receiving device. The RCS server can also receive an MSRP request, including a plurality of discreet MSRP data packets from an MSRP enabled sending device, combine the MSRP data packets into a single HTTP file, and send an HTTP message to an HTTP enabled receiving device.
