  • Publication number: 20230405363
Abstract: A device for positioning a medical appliance in an operational position with respect to a patient, includes a bearing element configured to receive the medical appliance; at least two compressible chambers containing a frictional jamming material capable of exhibiting frictional jamming when air is removed from the chambers, the chambers being coupled to the bearing element; wherein: in a non-actuated configuration, the bearing element is adapted to be positioned in the operational position, and the chambers are configured to move the bearing element according to six degrees of freedom, and in an actuated configuration, the frictional jamming material is subjected to frictional jamming, thereby allowing for the chambers to become rigid and the bearing element to be fixedly positioned, wherein the device is configured to be self-supporting in the actuated configuration. The disclosure also relates to a system and a method for positioning a medical appliance.

  • Patent number: 10758263
Abstract: A medical device is disclosed comprising an elongated needle assembly having a distal end, a proximal end and a longitudinal axis A, the needle assembly comprises a tubular cannula having a sharpened distal end, a proximal cannula portion, and a longitudinal bore along the longitudinal axis A, and a stylet configured to extend through the bore of the cannula, and having a blunt distal end and a proximal stylet portion. The needle assembly is provided with a spring member configured to urge the stylet in a distal direction along the longitudinal axis, such that the stylet is axially spring-biased in said distal direction.

  • Patent number: 10751193
Abstract: A device for percutaneous transpedicular fusion includes at least two straight pedicular cannulas arranged respectively on the upper or lower vertebra, or on the two vertebrae of the spinal segment, at least one guide pin with a curved profile, which is implanted in the endplate of the corresponding vertebra through the corresponding pedicular cannula, of a flexible cannulated drill bit guided around the corresponding guide pin and driven in back and forth movements by a cannulated drive system to nibble out gradually slots in the lower and upper endplate of each vertebra and reduce to flaps the nucleic tissues of an intervertebral disk for the production of the intersomatic space, of an injection device connected to one of the straight pedicular cannulas for the injection of the graft into the intersomatic space, and closing devices that are screwed into the holes left free after retraction of the straight pedicular cannulas.

  • Patent number: 9872687
Abstract: The nucleotomy device makes it possible to produce a nuclear space Es in an intervertebral disc Di using a transosseous approach previously pierced in the body of a vertebra Va. The device includes a tool holder (2) provided with first connection elements (3) ensuring the placement of an electric rotary driving motor (4), second connection elements (5) for the placement of a blade cutting tool (6), driving elements (7) imparting rotational and longitudinal translational movements to the cutting tool (6), and injection and suction elements (8) making it possible to evacuate the debris from the nucleus resulting from cutting when it is formed inside the intervertebral disc.

  • Patent number: 9364242
Abstract: The drilling device for forming an osseous channel (2) with a curved profile (2b) via a straight cannula (6) previously fixed in the body of a vertebra (3) with a cortical plateau (4) of a spinal segment (Sr) of a vertebral column (Cv) includes a guide pin (8) which is provided from a guide pin kit and has at one of its ends a curved profile (8a) of which the radius of curvature R is less than 20 millimeters, and a sharpened tip (8b) arranged in a direction defined by an angle Y which is less than 90 degrees to the longitudinal axis of said pin, the profile of said guide pin (8) making it possible to define, after insertion thereof into the body of the vertebra (3), two contact points a and b ensuring the guidance of the free end of an articulated drill bit (10) so as to position said free end in a direction substantially perpendicular to that of the cortical plateau (4) of the vertebra (3) to be drilled.
