  • Publication number: 20130135137
Abstract: In order to provide means for measuring vital signs such as heart rate, breathing rate, pulse forms, that allow accurate and unobtrusive signal acquisition and that are automatically adjusted to varying positions of an area of interest within a pre-determined area, a device, a system and a method for measuring vital signs are provided, wherein electromagnetic signals such as microwave or radar are emitted and reflected electromagnetic signals are sensed with directional sensitivity by a transceiving unit and wherein a direction of interest is determined based on the sensed reflected signals and a primary direction of sensitivity (300) of the transceiving unit is adjusted to the direction of interest by a control unit. Thus, vital signs can be monitored in an unobtrusive and simple way.

  • Publication number: 20060184596
Abstract: A FIR filter includes an input pipeline IP with a sequence of input delay cells DI; each for storing an input sample, and a plurality of N input tap points TP. An output pipeline includes a sequence of output delay cells DO; each for storing a sample, a plurality of N summating elements Si for adding at least two samples, and an output switching network OSN for accumulating output values from the summating elements. A sequence of N taps T; are used for coupling the input pipeline to the output pipeline. Each tap includes a respective multiplier Mi for multiplying a sample from an input tap point by a coefficient. At least N?1 of the taps include a switching element for directing a sample from an input tap point through the multiplier to a summating element. The switching elements are arranged to enable supply of a sample from any tap point TPP to a summating element Si, where j<--i.

  • Publication number: 20050093775
Abstract: The present invention relates to driving a plasma display panel including discharge cells each corresponding to a pixel in response to a video signal including fields wherein each field is formed by a plurality of subfields, wherein a sustain-level signal (AS) is applied (Q) to cause a sustaining discharge in a discharge cell for emitting light therefrom, and an error diffusion process is carried out. In the error diffusion process (Q?1, ST, F, A), sustain-level quantization errors of the current filed are detected (Q?1, ST) and transferred (F, A) to a next field, in which the sustain-level quantization errors are preferably compensated for.

  • Publication number: 20050013064
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method, load (12) and display device (10) where an output parameter value (V) of a power supply (14) coupled to a separate load (12) is regulated. The load (12) demands at least one such parameter value (V) from the power supply (14). The power supply (14) delivers the output parameter value (V) to the load (12). The load (12) comprises a control signal setting unit (16), which receives information relating to the output parameter value (V) and is connected to the power supply (14) for delivering a control signal (VC). The control signal (VC) includes information relating to the output parameter value (V) and is used by the power supply (14) for regulating the output parameter value (V). This makes the control signal setting unit (16) part of a feedback loop. The parameter value is preferably an output voltage, the load a plasma display panel and the display device a television set.
