  • Publication number: 20230321951
Abstract: The disclosure relates to multilayer laminate compositions including opposing first and second polymeric layers, typically with an intervening gas and/or moisture barrier layer. The first polymeric layer incudes a first polymer, which can be selected based on desired mechanical and/or chemical properties. The second polymeric layer is a heat-sealable analog of the first polymeric layer, and it can include a blend of the first polymer along with a second polymer having a lower melting temperature, or a second polymer that includes monomer units of the first polymer copolymerized with a second monomer to provide a lower melting temperature for the second polymer relative to the first polymer. The improved heat-sealing properties of the second polymeric layer permits convenient packaging of items, and the common polymeric components between the first and second polymeric layers facilitates recycling and reuse of the multilayer laminate composition because of its substantially unimaterial nature.

  • Patent number: 11429977
Abstract: The invention relates to a customer initiated fraud management. With an embodiment of the present invention, customers may control card utilization through a mobile application. For example, customers may restrict the utilization on their cards when they do not need to use their cards as well as allow specific types of transactions on demand (e.g., PoS, Cash, card absent environment transactions, etc.). Also, an interactive user interface provides cardholders the ability to open utilization windows in specific countries and for specific utilization types.

  • Publication number: 20130328700
Abstract: There is disclosed an intelligent, automated real-time traffic management system and method for controlling traffic in remote areas. A plurality of positionable controller nodes are positioned in dependence upon a traffic configuration in a given area of interest. The plurality of controller nodes are adapted to communicate wirelessly with each other and with a control center to control traffic within an area of interest based on the traffic configuration and the vehicular traffic. The controller nodes automatically detect approaching and departing traffic in multiple directions and effectively generate a right-of-way sequence resulting in a safe, efficient, and incident free traffic flow through a remotely located hazardous traffic area. The locations of the plurality of controller nodes are tracked utilizing satellite tracking to deploy, provision, and manage a large group of controller nodes from a remotely located control center.

  • Patent number: 8016557
Abstract: An airfoil diffuser for a centrifugal compressor formed by a diffuser passage area and a plurality of diffuser blades located within the diffuser passage area. The diffuser passage area is defined between a hub plate and a shroud of the centrifugal compressor. Each of the diffuser blades has a twisted configuration in a stacking direction as taken between the hub plate and an outer portion of the shroud located opposite to the hub plate. As a result of the twisted configuration, the diffuser blade inlet blade angle decreases from the hub plate to the outer portion of the shroud and solidity measurements at leading edges of the diffuser plates vary between a lower solidity value measured at the hub plate of less than 1.0 and a high solidity value measured at the outer portion of the shroud of no less than 1.0.

  • Patent number: 6792981
Abstract: A method and apparatus for introducing a compressed gas into a pressure vessel, for instance, hydrogen into a vehicle fuel tank, in which hydrogen is compressed in an initial and final compressions stages which can be powered by a common source. The initial compression stage can continually operate to compress the gas in a lower pressure storage bank during the time that hydrogen is dispensed to a vehicle fuel tank. In time periods between dispensing, the gas from the lower pressure stage and from the lower pressure storage bank is compressed in the final compression stage and stored in a higher pressure storage bank. When the pressure vessel is to be filled, the compressor compresses the gas from the higher pressure storage bank to fill the vessel.
