  • Publication number: 20240075698
Abstract: The present disclosure includes systems, apparatuses, and methods for an optical system. In some aspects, the systems and devices may produce a wafer for use in the manufacture of an optical article. The wafer includes a laminate having a first layer that includes a first matrix material having a lower surface and an upper surface opposite the lower surface and a second layer that includes a second matrix material, the second layer is coupled to the first layer and covers at least a portion of the lower surface or the upper surface. The first layer includes a first thickness at a central portion that is greater than a second thickness at an edge portion.

  • Publication number: 20230194892
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a laminate, comprising a first film including a pattern of microstructures debossed within a first surface of the first film, each microstructure of the debossed pattern of microstructures being an optical microstructure arranged such that a height of the first surface of the first film is greater than a height of each optical microstructure, and a second film that is laminated, via a first surface of the second film, to the first film at the first surface of the first film, wherein a delta between the height of the first surface of the first film and the height of each optical microstructure encapsulates, upon the lamination of the second film to the first film, a void fill material in at least a portion of at least one void defined by the delta.

  • Publication number: 20230113340
Abstract: A spectacle lens is disclosed that includes compound microlenses arranged in a pattern. A compound microlens includes an on-axis microlenslet and an off-axis sub-lenslet located on the on-axis microlenslet. The off-axis sub-lenslet has a different optical functionality than the on-axis microlenslet. By selecting the appropriate compound microlens design, the addition of microlenslets with sub-lenslets around the periphery of the main structure optimizes the spectacle lens for myopia prevention, vertigo prevention, or any other visual related condition.
