  • Patent number: 11295090
Abstract: A method for applying a trained machine learning model to answer a user query comprises receiving a query text from a user. A previously-trained discriminator is received, the previously-trained discriminator configured to output, for a pair of sentences, a match value indicating a quality of semantic match between the pair of sentences. For each candidate answer text of a plurality of candidate answer texts, the previously-trained discriminator is operated to output a candidate match value for the query text and the candidate answer text based on comparing a first hierarchy of representations of the query text at increasing degrees of semantic compression to a second hierarchy of representations of the candidate answer text at increasing degrees of semantic compression. An answer text is output that is associated with a highest candidate match value among candidate match values.

  • Publication number: 20220103626
Abstract: A string, identifying an item to be assigned to a physical resource, is hashed to obtain a numeric hash value. The numeric hash value is downscaled to obtain a bucket identifier that identifies a bucket that will hold the numeric hash value. The bucket is then deterministically mapped to a physical resource so that it can be retrieved without accessing a stored data structure representative of the mapping.

  • Publication number: 20220092953
Abstract: Aspects of the present invention disclose a method for identification of a distributed prohibited item across various dimensions as well as spatial and/or temporal spaces. The method includes one or more processors assigning an identifier to each container of a plurality of containers entering a defined area. The method further includes determining one or more subcomponents of the plurality of containers entering the defined area that correspond to one or more prohibited items. The method further includes generating a set of subcomponents corresponding to a first prohibited item of the one or more prohibited items based at least in part on the plurality of containers. The method further includes determining whether the set of subcomponents corresponding to the first prohibited item exceeds a prohibited item threshold of the defined area based on a weighted sum of the set of subcomponents, which is a score related to the set of subcomponents.

  • Patent number: 11133854
Abstract: Digital predistortion (DPD) arrangements that use coding to differentiate between contributions from individual power amplifiers (PAs) is disclosed. When used with a phased antenna array having N antenna elements and N corresponding PAs, the arrangements may sequentially apply N codes to input signals provided to N PAs. Each code is a vector having N elements, where each element corresponds to a different PA in that the element is a complex gain applied to an input signal for the PA. Together, the N codes may be arranged as N rows or N columns of a matrix P. The disclosed arrangements may generate N feedback signals by applying the matrix P to a signal generated by a probe antenna element sensing wireless RF signals transmitted by the N antenna elements, and to update DPD coefficients based on the N feedback signals. The N codes may be either orthogonal or non-orthogonal.

  • Patent number: 11080468
Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques and architectures that involve a latent activity model for workplace emails. Such a model is based, at least in part, on a concept that communications, such as email at a workplace, are purposeful and organized by activities. An activity is a set of interrelated actions and events around a common goal, involving a particular group of people, set of resources, and time framework, for example. The latent activity model involves a probabilistic inference in graphical models that jointly captures the interplay between latent activities and the email contexts governed by the emails. Such contexts may be email recipients, subject and body of the email, and so on.
