  • Patent number: 11727241
Abstract: A method and system for replacing a first wireless node in an IoT system includes determining, by the first wireless node, that the first wireless node needs imminent replacement. The determination may be made, for example, based on a battery of the first wireless node being below a threshold level. The first wireless node initiates a discovery protocol for a second wireless node installed in proximity to the first wireless node, the second wireless node installed to replace the first wireless node. Upon discovery of the second wireless node, the first wireless node transmits a configuration file to the second wireless node, which the second wireless node copies to a storage of the second wireless node. The second wireless node configures itself to operate as a replacement for the first wireless node in the IoT system, based at least in part on the copied configuration file.

  • Publication number: 20230252399
Abstract: A RFID system includes an RFID controller and an RFID reader communicatively coupled to at least one RFID antenna positioned within a cargo area of a vehicle. The RFID controller includes a status indicator for generating a visual indication, a processor, and memory storing a manifest defining RFID identifiers corresponding to assets for transport by the vehicle. The memory further stores firmware having machine-readable instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to: control the RFID reader to receive an RFID signal from an RFID tag using one of the at least one RFID antenna, decode an RFID identifier from the RFID signal identifying an RFID tag attached to an asset located within the cargo area, and generate, using the status indicator, a visual indication indicative of the asset being loaded in error when the RFID identifier is not listed in the manifest.

  • Patent number: 11687748
Abstract: Systems and methods monitor loading of cargo onto a transport vehicle to avoid incorrect cargo loading incidents. A wireless monitoring device positioned near an access port of a cargo hold of the transport vehicle receives a tracking identifier of a wireless tracking tag attached to a logistic container containing the cargo as the logistic container is conveyed into the cargo hold. An alert is generated by the wireless monitoring device when the tracking identifier is not listed in a manifest listing identifiers of wireless tracking tags attached to logistic containers expected to be loaded into the cargo hold. Within the cargo hold, the wireless tracking tags may also exchange their tracking identifiers such that any one of the wireless tracking tags may determine, by counting, when less than a target threshold number of wireless tracking tags are present.

  • Publication number: 20230152122
Abstract: Systems and methods receive an image of at least part of an environmental layout and at least two geographic feature locations associated with the image. At least two geographic locations are determined, each corresponding to a respective one of the at least two geographic feature locations and a map scale is determined for the images based on the at least two geographic feature locations and the at least two geographic locations. The map scale allows conversion between points on the image and geographic locations. The image and the map scale are used to display a location interface on a client device that allows a user to search the environmental layout for an asset associated with a tracking node, where the location interface graphically displays graphical elements indicative of communication recency between the tracking tag and one or more infrastructure nodes.

  • Patent number: 11627436
Abstract: Apparatus and methods prepare an adhesive tape platform with a battery for disposal at an end of its useful life. The adhesive tape platform determines when it is at the end of its useful life and performs an action to drain remaining battery life of the battery. When remaining life in the battery is less than a threshold level, the adhesive tape platform transmits a ready for disposal notification to an Internet of Things (IOT) system of the adhesive tape platform. The adhesive tape platform may determine its life expectancy and operational phases of the adhesive tape platform and assign battery usage for each of the operational phases such that the battery is depleted at an end of a last one of the operational phases. The adhesive tape platform may activate battery draining circuitry to drain the remaining battery life of the battery.
