  • Publication number: 20150026145
Abstract: An information retrieval system converts unstructured ad-hoc search queries into structured search instructions that retrieve data in a structured relational database or an unstructured database. Data from the database is uploaded into a distributed in-memory database system. Tokens are automatically generated based on attributes, measures, and other metadata extracted from the relational database. The tokens are then compared with the non-structured ad-hoc user search queries. The information retrieval system uses the tokens to identify or predict what structured data is associated with user search queries. The tokens guide the user through a set of search terms that the system then uses to generate the structured query instructions. The structured query instructions retrieve specific data and answers from in the database system.

  • Publication number: 20150026153
Abstract: A search engine performs semantic analysis of unstructured search terms to generate relational database queries. By understanding the semantics, the search engine more effectively identifies and predicts what information the user is searching for and provides more in-depth user assistance. The search engine uses different ranking schemes to identify which data is most likely associated with search terms and provides both row level and object level data security. The search engine may identify ambiguous search requests and allows the user to select different join paths that create different mappings between the data. The search engine may generate worksheets containing the selected mappings.

  • Patent number: 8601473
Abstract: Disclosed is an improved approach to implement I/O and storage device management in a virtualization environment. According to some approaches, a Service VM is employed to control and manage any type of storage device, including directly attached storage in addition to networked and cloud storage. The Service VM implements the Storage Controller logic in the user space, and can be migrated as needed from one node to another. IP-based requests are used to send I/O request to the Service VMs. The Service VM can directly implement storage and I/O optimizations within the direct data access path, without the need for add-on products.

  • Publication number: 20060216360
Abstract: A pharmaceutical composition comprising a platinum (II) complex compound in n aqueous solvent. The pharmaceutical composition is prepared by the essential steps of: (i) adding a platinum (II) complex compound to an oxygen enriched aqueous solvent to obtain a solution; (ii) Sterilizing the solution (iii) Filling the sterilizedsolution of step (ii) into suitable containers; and (iv) Sealing the containers. The oxygen enriched aqueous solvent is obtained by purging or bubbling of a gas into an aqueous solvent for 30 to 150 minutes. A device for preparing the pharmaceutical composition is illustrated in FIG. 1. The composition is used for treatment of a human or an animal cancerous disease by the administration of pharmaceutical compositions of platinum (II) complex compounds as per the claim 1, to the human or animal in need of said treatment.

  • Patent number: 6218326
Abstract: An entirely new class of catalysts called supported molten-metal catalysts, SMMC, which can replace some of the existing precious metal catalysts used in the production of fuels, commodity chemicals, and fine chemicals, as well as in combating pollution. SMMC are based on supporting ultra-thin films or micro-droplets of the relatively low-melting (<600° C.), inexpensive, and abundant metals and semimetals from groups 1, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16, of the periodic table, or their alloys and intermetallic compounds, on porous refractory supports, much like supported microcrystallites of the traditional solid metal catalysts. It thus provides orders of magnitude higher surface area than is obtainable in conventional reactors containing molten metals in pool form and also avoids corrosion. These have so far been the chief stumbling blocks in the application of molten metal catalysts.

  • Patent number: 5739975
Abstract: A memory storage module for storing and accessing information which includes a flat storage medium having an X-axis and a Y-axis. A plurality of read/write heads are coupled to a head array assembly which is capable of motion along the X-axis. The head array assembly positions the heads adjacent to the medium. An X-axis motor is coupled to the head array assembly and causes the heads to undergo reciprocating substantially linear motion along the X-axis of the medium. A Y-axis motor creates linear motion between the heads and the medium along the Y-axis of the medium. The heads are controlled to store or access information on the medium as the heads move across the X-axis of the medium. The Y-axis motor moves the heads from track to track along the Y-axis of the medium. The Y-axis motor can be connected to move either the medium or the head array assembly along the Y-axis.

  • Patent number: 4970656
Abstract: The system uses a tunable inductor in series with the piezoelectric crystal excitation transducer in the probe which has a flux modulation coil. The bias current through this flux modulation coil is controlled by the system. It is controlled such that the inductance of the tunable inductor cancels out the capacitive reactance of the load impedance presented by the probe when the probe is being driven by a driving signal which matches the mechanical resonance frequency of the probe. The resulting overall load impedance is substantially purely resistive. The system measures the phase angle and monitors the power level. The system uses this information to adjust the bias current flowing through the flux modulation coil to maintain the substantially purely resistive load impedance for changing power levels. This information is also used to adjust the frequency of the driving signal to track changing mechanical resonance conditions for the probe at different power levels.
