  • Publication number: 20070068374
Abstract: A countermass for use in a weapon to balance the forces arising when a launchable unit is launched from a launcher tube of the weapon. The countermass includes a first container enclosing a liquid. A countermass weapon includes a launcher tube open or openable in both ends. The launcher tube houses a launchable unit, a countermass including a first container enclosing a liquid, a pressure chamber, and a propellant charge that upon firing and combustion of the charge in cooperation with the pressure chamber and the countermass accelerates the launchable unit forwards in the tube at the same time as the countermass accelerates backwards in the tube. The first container is made of a non-rigid material. A second container is provided to cover or almost cover the first container. The second container is designed with damping characteristics.

  • Publication number: 20040244263
Abstract: The invention relates to a holder device configured for fastening to a substantially cylindrical body, such as a gun barrel, for the support of equipment such as a sight. The holder device comprises at least two holder elements, one holder element being configured for secure fixing to the cylindrical body and the other one being arranged such that it is movably coupled to the first-named holder element. According to the invention, the holder elements are arranged such that they are rotatable in relation to each other about a common axis between a first position, the transport position, and a second position, the activated position, and one of the holder elements is axially displaceable along the common axis from a position of equilibrium defined by a spring arrangement. The holder device reduces the transmission of axial recoil motions between the holder elements.

  • Publication number: 20040096806
Abstract: The invention relates to simulation of effects in a combat environment, wherein personnel, vehicles and buildings are exposed to simulated fire in the from military weapons. Direct fire and indirect fire are simulated by means of at least one of light rays (111) and radio waves (121). Effects of attacking fire are registered by means of a target object device (145), which includes sensors adapted to detect the light rays (111) respective the radio waves (121) and are co-located with the target object (140). According to the invention the target object (140) is associated to at least one protecting object (130a; 130a′) located between the simulated fire (111; 121) and the target object (140) if such object exists in the current combat situation. This enables a consideration to various protecting objects' (130a; 130a′) influence on the simulated fire and the effects on corresponding actual fire.

  • Patent number: 3932904
Abstract: The present invention concerns a combination tool for providing a bore in a workpiece and for introducing a fastener, especially a self-threading screw, into said bore. Said combination tool comprises a cylindrical core one end of which is provided with a stub shaft meant to be connected to a drive means and the other end of which carries a mounting member for a drill. A sleeve surrounds said core and carries a tightening member for said screw. Said sleeve is axially displaceable along said core from a first end position in which said drill protrudes through and outside of said tightening member into a second end position in which the drill is completely retracted inside of same. In said first end position the sleeve is rotatable relative to said core, but in said second end position it is stationary thereto both with respect to rotation and to axial displacement.
