  • Publication number: 20240083846
Abstract: The present invention relates to novel SMAC mimetic peptidomimetics useful for the treatment of proliferative diseases including cancer in mammals The novel SMAC mimetics are prepared by incorporating (2S,5R)-5-(5-methylfuran-2-yl)pyrrolidine-2-carboxylic acid, a novel unnatural amino acid that imparts exclusively trans amide bond geometry favourable for target protein binding. Here, the novel SMAC mimetic molecule(s) not only show its efficacy in varied cancer types but also demonstrate in vitro and in vivo efficacy against therapy resistant cancer as a single agent. The novel SMAC mimetics disclosed in the present invention binds to BIR-2 and BIR-3 domains of the XIAP and exhibit high anti-proliferative activity against variety of mammalian cancer cell lines that include but not limited to chemotherapy and TRAIL resistant cell lines.

  • Patent number: 7796262
Abstract: The current invention provides methods for detecting trace analytes in solution or suspension using coupled micro-ring resonators. The methods of the current invention determine the presence and concentration of the target analytes in real time by exposing the micro-ring resonator to the analyte and determining the resulting rate of change of resonance wavelength experienced by a sensing micro-ring resonator as compared to a reference micro-ring resonator.

  • Publication number: 20060024707
Abstract: The present invention involves a series of articles, compositions, methods, and kits. Some aspects of the invention include articles such as particles, sols, blends, dispersions, films, or microarrays that comprise luminescent polymers, as well as methods for making and using such articles. In some cases, the luminescent polymer may be characterized in part by having a delocalized ?-orbital structure, which can allow the polymer to have a high degree of luminosity. The polymers of this invention may also have, in some embodiments, bulky substituents to prevent intermolecular ?-? interactions that can decrease luminosity. Some articles may include more than one luminescent polymer, for example, a first polymer that absorbs energy and directs the energy to a second polymer that releases the energy.
