  • Patent number: 6057825
Abstract: An image processing apparatus for drawing the inside of an image area which is expressed by vector data has reversal and painting means for sequentially reversing write dots (data) along the storage direction in correspondence to one outline which is specified by vector data, for writing the reversed write dots into an image memory, and for painting the inside of an image area like a closed figure in the image memory. Thus, the area in a closed figure can be painted at a high speed using an apparatus which has a simple construction. The optimum reversal and painting method can be selectively switched in accordance with the attribute data of an image area to be painted, so that the optimum. painting process can be executed at a high precision and at a high speed.

  • Patent number: 5838298
Abstract: An image processing apparatus for smoothly drawing and outputting a contour line of a graphic image includes: an input device to input an image; a memory to store the image input by the input device; a detecting circuit to detect a stairway-like change portion in the contour line image of the image stored in the memory a contour line correcting circuit to perform the smoothing process by forming notches in the stairway-like change portions of the contour line image detected by the detecting circuit; and a display device to display the image. The contour line correcting circuit inverts the stairway-like change portions of the contour line image detected by the detecting circuit, thereby forming the notches and executing the smoothing process. The detecting circuit detects the stairway-like change portions of the contour line image having slopes of a predetermined angle or more with respect to the horizontal or vertical direction in the image stored in the memory.

  • Patent number: 5579416
Abstract: A character processing apparatus comprises: parameter memory means for storing type parameters; display means for displaying a list of a plurality of type vector fonts on the basis of the type parameters; selecting means for selecting a plurality of type vector fonts displayed by the display means; and converting means for converting each of the vector fonts existing in a designated interval in a vector font train which are input from input means and displayed by the display means into the type vector fonts selected by the selecting means, wherein the modified vector fonts which are frequently used and correspond to fundamental vector fonts are previously registered, and when modified vector font patterns are formed, the registered modified vector font patterns are displayed and selected, thereby enabling the parameters for the modified vector font patterns to be easily set.

  • Patent number: 5574842
Abstract: A document processing apparatus and method inputs character code information corresponding to a character to be output, stores a character or symbol pattern in the form of a plurality of fonts, discriminates whether a character or a symbol pattern to be output exists across a plurality of lines, generates one character or a symbol pattern existing across a single line from one stored font based on one character code of the input character code information in the event that the character or symbol pattern to be output is discriminated to exist, across only a single line, and generates one character or symbol pattern existing across a plurality of lines from the plurality of stored fonts based on one character code of the input character code information in the event that the character or symbol pattern to be output is discriminated to exist across a plurality of lines.

  • Patent number: 5452372
Abstract: An image processing apparatus for correcting shape errors when a graphic image to which contour line data was given is painted and developed comprises: an input device to input contour line data of image information; a circuit to make a contour line pattern of the image information on the basis of the contour line data; a circuit to make a painted pattern in which the inside of the contour line pattern was painted; a circuit to narrow the painted pattern; and a contour line correcting circuit to obtain the exclusive-OR combination of the narrowed painted pattern and the contour line pattern. The contour line pattern is eliminated from the painted pattern by the narrowing circuit. The contour line correcting circuit has a converter to convert the contour line pattern in correspondence to the drawing direction of the contour line pattern and obtains the exclusive-OR combination of the converted contour line pattern and the painted pattern.

  • Patent number: 5404429
Abstract: A figure processing apparatus is arranged to draw a locus figure in a form in which line ("effect line") is added to an original figure to enhance a desired visual effect. A first holding part holds a figure in a bitwise expanded form, a second holding part holds an effect figure which is formed of feature points (e.g., vertices or turning points) of the original figure, and a continuously drawing part repeats the step of drawing the figure held in the first holding part and the effect figure held in the second holding part in mutually different colors or densities. An additional arrangement extracts feature points which form the effect figure held in the second holding part.

  • Patent number: 5122953
Abstract: A word processor capable of creating a formula during a document editing process by automatically setting a range of a formula in a document being edited with an instrument of a formula process start command and allowing a switching operation between the document editing process and the formula creating process to be easily made. This allows the formula to be edited on a block basis, thereby facilitating the editing operation such as modification, addition, or deletion of the formula in accordance with any editing of character trains or symbols inside and outside the formula in a well-balanced manner. The word processor is also capable of automatically defining the position, size, and form of a symbol in accordance with the length and form of an object to which the symbol is to be added, so that the position, size, and form of the symbol can be automatically accommodated in accordance with any change in the object to which the symbol is to be added without bothering an operator.
