  • Patent number: 5339297
Abstract: A multifunction analog electronic watch includes a battery, a circuitry block and a base plate made from a polymeric other electrically non-conductive material. A switching device for controlling application of the voltage from the power source to the circuitry block includes a switching member and two electrode patterns. The first electrode pattern is electrically coupled to the power source and the second electrode pattern is electrically coupled to the circuitry block. The switching member, which is normally biased away from the first electrode pattern and second electrode pattern is operable in response to external pressure for contacting the first electrode pattern and the second electrode pattern so as to provide an electrical path between the first electrode pattern and the second electrode pattern.

  • Patent number: 5289452
Abstract: A multifunction electronic analog timepiece includes a face and a plurality of indicators positioned on the face for displaying at least two time keeping functions. At least two step motors are provided for driving the plurality of time keeping function indicators. The time keeping function indicators are arbitrarily disposed about the face dependent upon the number of step motors and position of step motors required to drive the indicators. A microcomputer is provided and includes a program memory for storing software instructions for controlling the step motors.

  • Patent number: 5250425
Abstract: Disclosed is a process for producing ascorbic acid-2-phosphate which comprises the steps of reaction, in aqueous medium, of ascorbic acid with a phosphate donor in the presence of cells, treated cells, a culture broth or a treated culture broth, of a microorganism belonging to the genus Escherichia and carrying a recombinant DNA comprising a gene isolated from a microorganism belonging to the species Pseudomonas azotocolligans and coding for ascorbic acid-phosphorylating enzyme until a recoverable amount of ascorbic acid-2-phosphate is accumulated in the aqueous medium, and recovery of ascorbic acid-2-phosphate therefrom.

  • Patent number: 5214625
Abstract: A multifunction analog timepiece including a stem responsive to external regulation for controlling a displayed function. The stem is positionable at at least two steps. A clutch wheel is disposed on and movable along the stem. A setting element coupled to the stem is operable for direct contact with the clutch wheel. The setting element is in direct contact with the clutch wheel and only one of the steps of the stem.

  • Patent number: 5212079
Abstract: A process for the preparation of ascorbic acid-2-phosphate, which comprises reacting ascorbic acid or araboascorbic acid with a phosphate donor other than ATP in an aqueous medium in the presence of an effective amount of an enzyme derived and capable of preferentially catalyzing the enzymatic phosphorylation in the 2-position of ascorbic acid or araboascorbic acid by said phosphate donor, and recovering the resultant ascorbic acid-2-phosphate from the reaction solution.
