  • Patent number: 7079278
Abstract: The present invention provides an image processing system which can make switch-over between a copy-permitted state and a copy-prohibited state automatically according to the type of production while securely protecting the production. For the purpose, the system causes a detecting portion to detect the presence of predetermined information (i.e., production information) in image data, when that image data is sent from a user side terminal to be output from an output device. If the results of this detection indicate its presence, the system prohibits outputting of that image data from the output device. With this, the system releases an output-prohibited state of the above-mentioned image data based on the results of comparison between a password sent from the user side terminal and a password present in that image data.

  • Publication number: 20060127113
Abstract: An image forming apparatus configured to carry out development using a light toner and a dark toner having substantially the same hue, includes a pattern forming unit configured to form a pattern using a dark toner and a light toner, a pattern reading unit configured to read the density of the pattern formed on a sheet of recording paper after the pattern has been fixed, and a gradation correction unit configured to correct the gradation characteristics of image data for the light toner by changing the slope of the gradation characteristics with zero level as a base point. The changing of the slope is based on the density characteristics of the pattern read by the pattern reading unit and the ratio of the amounts of the light toner and the dark toner that have been used.

  • Publication number: 20060128110
Abstract: A technique is provided which permits formation within a single chip both a field effect transistor of high reliability capable of suppressing the occurrence of a crystal defect and a field effect transistor of a high integration degree. In a mask ROM section having an element isolation region with an isolation width of smaller than 0.3 ?m, a planar shape of each active region ACT is made polygonal by cutting off the corners of a quadrangle, thereby suppressing the occurrence of a crystal defect in the active region ACT and diminishing a leakage current flowing between the source and drain of a field effect transistor. In a sense amplifier data latch section which is required to have a layout of a small margin in the alignment between a gate G of a field effect transistor and the active region ACT, the field effect transistor is disposed at a narrow pitch by making the active region ACT quadrangular.

  • Patent number: 7043170
Abstract: An image-forming apparatus includes a rotatable photoreceptor carrying a toner image thereon, a rotatable intermediate transfer member, a primary transfer device facilitating primary transfer of the toner image from the photoreceptor onto the intermediate transfer member, a secondary transfer device facilitating secondary transfer of the toner image from the intermediate transfer member onto a sheet, and a controller controlling rotation speed of the intermediate transfer member. The controller sets the rotation speed at a first speed during primary transfer. After primary transfer and a delay period, the controller changes the rotation speed to a second speed. The controller determines which rotation of the intermediate transfer member to change the speed.

  • Patent number: 7031631
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a photosensitive member, an intermediate transfer material, a first transfer device, a second transfer device, a feed device, a refeed device, and a controller which executes selectively first and second modes, in which one or two images are formed on one round of the intermediate transfer material. An image, which should be formed on a refed sheet, is formed on a first half area on one round of the intermediate transfer material, and an image, which should be formed on a fed sheet, is formed on a second half area on one round, in a case of executing the second mode when performing image formation on both sides of a sheet. The first mode is executed before returning to the second mode after executing the first mode instead of executing the second mode when performing both side image formation.

  • Patent number: 6947680
Abstract: In a case where a rotating speed of an intermediate transfer member is reduced during the process of image formation, carriers may adhere to a photosensitive member before the rotating speed of the intermediate transfer member stabilizes. To cope therewith, in changing an image formation speed in accordance with a conveying speed of a recording material on completion of primary transfer, a developing rotary is rotated so as to keep any developing device off a developing position. Consequently, a situation in which the carriers adhere to an image bearing member can be avoided. At the same time, stopping a charging operation of a charger enables a longer service life of the image bearing member.

  • Publication number: 20050191068
Abstract: An image forming apparatus which makes it possible to reduce wait time before completion of an image stabilization process executed for preparation for image formation, and at the same time ensure image quality. In the image forming apparatus, image formation is performed using developers having respective four colors (yellow (Y), magenta (M), cyan (C), and black (BK)). The image formation apparatus has a BK monochrome mode in which only BK color is used, a full color mode in which are used four colors (yellow (Y), magenta (M), cyan (C), and black (BK)) of four color toners, and an automatic color selection (ACS) mode in which one of the BK monochrome mode and the full color mode is selected by automatically recognizing image data and image formation is carried out in the selected mode. One of the BK monochrome mode, the full color mode, and the ACS mode is set to a default mode upon power-on of the image forming apparatus. A CPU 301 determines the default mode upon power-on of the image forming apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20040234282
Abstract: When a plurality of toner containers mounted on a developing rotary is simultaneously determined as toner-absent toner containers, toner container replacement may not be efficient because toner containers are replaced at on replacement position. Therefore, when the toner containers mounted on the developing rotary are simultaneously determined as toner-absent toner containers, a toner container to be preferentially replaced is selected so as to be able to a replacement position by considering the usability.

  • Publication number: 20040155955
Abstract: An image forming apparatus that is capable of carrying out image formation on a recording medium such as plain paper without increasing the FCOT (First Copy Out Time) and is also capable of carrying out optimal image formation on a recording medium, such as thick paper, for which the processing speed is reduced with no registration misalignment between the leading ends of toner images and the leading end of the recording medium. An image is primarily transferred onto a rotatively driven image carrier, and the image on the image carrier is secondarily transferred onto a recording medium. An image writing reference position signal for starting image formation is issued based on the circumference of the image carrier which is the length of the image carrier in the direction of rotation thereof or based on a detected reference position on the image carrier.
