  • Publication number: 20070070483
Abstract: An image forming method which generates a video signal corresponding to an image forming command based on a video clock signal, modulates a light beam according to the video signal, and scans the modulated light beam along a main scanning direction by means of an oscillation mirror which resonates based on a drive signal, so as to form a latent image in an effective image region of a latent image carrier, the method includes: synchronizing the drive signal with the video clock signal to synchronize a detection signal with the vide clock signal, the detection signal being output from a detector which detect the light beam scanned in the main scanning direction in a region away from an effective scan region which corresponds to the effective image region; controlling a resonant frequency of the oscillation mirror based on the detection signal so that the resonant frequency of the oscillation mirror almost coincides with the frequency of the drive signal; and adjusting a position, at which the latent image is wr

  • Publication number: 20070035799
Abstract: A light scanning apparatus makes a light beam scan along a main scanning direction on an effective scanning region which has a predetermined width. The apparatus comprises: a light source which emits the light beam; a deflector which includes an oscillation mirror which oscillates about an oscillatory axis which is orthogonal or approximately orthogonal to the main scanning direction, deflects the light beam emitted from the light source using the oscillation mirror, and makes the light beam scan a second scanning range which contains but extends beyond a first scanning range which corresponds to the effective scanning region; a detector which detects the scanning light beam which moves through a position which is outside the first scanning range but is within the second scanning range, and outputs a signal; and a controller which controls a mirror drive signal fed to the oscillation mirror based on the output signal from the detector and accordingly adjusts the amplitude of the oscillation mirror.

  • Patent number: 7173546
Abstract: When a control circuit extracts data of an entity corresponding to a phone number, the control circuit retrieves phone numbers that accord, with respect to lower seven digits of a phone number, with the inputted phone number from among phone numbers included in retrieval data. After the entity having the phone number corresponding to the inputted phone number is extracted, a map including the entity extracted is displayed based on the position information of the entity extracted. Accordingly, even when the area code of the phone number is changed, the map including the corresponding entity can be displayed.

  • Publication number: 20060243886
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes: a latent image carrier that includes an effective image region which has a predetermined width along a main scanning direction; a latent image forming unit that has a structure in which a deflection mirror surface makes a light beam scan in a second scan region which is wider than a first scan region which corresponds to the effective image region, that modulates the light beam in accordance with an image signal within the range of the first scan region for every scanning cycle, and that guides the modulated light beam onto the effective image region, thereby forming a line latent image which corresponds to the image signal; an optical sensor that detects a scanning light beam, which moves outside the first scan region within the second scan region, to output a signal; and a write timing adjuster that controls the timing of start modulating the light beam and accordingly adjusts a write start position for start writing a latent image along the main scanning direction, base

  • Publication number: 20060178826
Abstract: A navigation device for a vehicle selects, as facilities for displaying with a magnified view of a guidance intersection on a recommended route to a destination, only facilities along an entering road through which the recommended route goes just before entering the guidance intersection and facilities at the corners of the guidance intersection. Then the navigation device displays the magnified view and the selected landmarks together.

  • Patent number: 6208976
Abstract: An order management system enables a customer to use a terminal device to order food, but can respond rapidly to changes and additions to the menu. When this system starts up, it transmits an operating program and image data from main management equipment to each of a number of order-taking terminal devices. Each order-taking terminal device stores the thus received operating program and image data and displays a menu screen on a display screen on the basis of the thus stored operating program and image data.

  • Patent number: 5184257
Abstract: A disk drive includes a data recording disk and disk head for recording data and reproducing data from the disk. Arms support the disk head. An actuator drives the arm moving the disk head to a predetermined data recording track of the disk. A spindle motor rotates the disk. An actuator unit moves the disk head to select a track on the disk. First positioning data for positioning the disk head is provided on at least one data surface. Second positioning data is provided at at least one data surface. A control is coupled to the actuator for controlling the positioning of the disk head and the searching of the disk in response to the first and second positioning data. The second positioning data may be located on positioning tracks not used for data. The second positioning information as part of a second positioning data is stored. The disk head position is compensated by the stored second positioning information which is superimposed with the first position data.

  • Patent number: 5023733
Abstract: A disk drive includes media for recording data, disk heads for recording data and reproducing data on the disks. The heads are supported on arms. A head actuator drives the arms moving the head to a predetermined data recording track on the disk. A spindle motor rotates the disk at a predetermined rotating speed. The spindle motor includes a rotor magnet disposed within a stator coil. The disk head and actuator motor are mounted on a pivot on opposed sides of each other. To control head positioning, first positioning data for positioning the disk heads and second positioning data are provided on each data surface. This data is detected by a data head. Second positioning data may be positioned on tracks not used for containing data. The head position is compensated by the stored second positioning information superimposed on the first positioning data.

  • Patent number: 4912582
Abstract: A floppy disk drive system for double-sided recording and playback having first and second heads positioned to hold a disk therebetween is provided. The first and second heads each have a read/write gap and each have a contacting plane for contacting the disk. Each such contacting plane has an inner edge position toward the center of the disk and an outer edge positioned toward the outer circumference of the disk. The gap of the first head is closer to the outer circumference of the disk than the gap of the second head when the heads are assembled in facing relation. The distance between the center of the inner edge of the contacting plane of the first head and the center of the read/write gap of the second head is about 0.6 mm or less. The contacting plane of the second head may be larger than that of the first head, said enlargement being in the direction of the inner circumference of the disk. At least one of the heads may have the two inner corners thereof chamfered by about C 0.
