    Abstract: A hydraulic control system for automatic transmissions includes a separate plate interposed between valve bodies and formed with a first hole for fluid communication between the valve bodies. A cup is disposed in one of the valve bodies, having a bottom biased to contact the separate plate. The bottom of the cup is formed with a second hole which fluidly communicates with the first hole. The second hole is smaller in radial dimension than the first hole, and includes two truncated-cone holes with a minimum-diameter portion.
