The processor receives a write request while performing the data copy. The write request requests to write first data in a first area of the first storage device. The processor performs first data write of writing the first data in the first area. The processor performs second data write of writing the first data in a second area of the second storage device. The second area corresponds to the first area. The processor stores abnormality information in the memory upon detecting normal completion of the second data write and an error occurred in the first data write. The abnormality information indicates the first area. The processor continuously performs the data copy while excluding data stored in the first area from copy-target data on basis of the abnormality information.

    Abstract: When new software is run in a transmission system, an interchangeable version that indicates software versions capable of residing in a network is specified in a judgment table. Software versions existing at remote transmission systems interconnected over the network are compared with the interchangeable version. If the versions existent at the remote transmission systems are contained in the interchangeable version, a command Start of Downloading is reported to the remote transmission systems. The software of a new version is then downloaded. It is thus impossible to download software that is not interchangeable. When downloading is completed, the end of downloading is reported to the remote transmission systems. A communication failure stemming from downloading is thus prevented.
