Abstract: A broadcast storage system is disclosed which is easily controllable by the user for setting programs for timer recording and playing back recorded programs. The broadcast storage system has one or more slave apparatus and a master apparatus. The master apparatus grasps programs set for timer recording by each of the slave apparatus. When a program to be recorded is determined by the user or an automatic timer recording process, the master apparatus selects an apparatus to record the program such that a plurality of timer recording settings are not made at one time in one apparatus, and instructs the selected apparatus to set the program for timer recording. When instructed to set the program for timer recording, a slave apparatus sets the program for timer recording, and records the program at the time when the program is broadcast.

Abstract: After anonymization of individual information such as clinical data, only the owner of a specimen data or the owner of a browsing right can identify data stored or related to it after the anonymization. Therefore, in an unlinkable anonymizing method, a uni-directional function such as a hash value calculation is applied to a combination data of related information such as an individual identifiable ID number or data, ID information and a key symbol in case of the anonymization, or a relational data such as a specimen number from only which an individual cannot be identified. A correspondence table of the anonymization number and the individual information is deleted. An estimation of an original individual or a specimen number from the anonymization number is prevented by use of uni-directional function. The access to the data after the anonymization is limited only to the owner who knows anonymization key data or the mandatory of the information.

The program management apparatus is formed from a personal computer having functions for performing recording and playback of a program, a video tape recorder having a function for acquiring an electronic program guide, or a like apparatus. The program management apparatus includes a program recording section, a program playback section, a program guide displaying section which issues an instruction to perform a suitable program process in response to an operation of an electronic program guide displayed thereon, a recording reservation management section, and a program guide preparation section for preparing an electronic program guide. A recording unit 11 records data of a program, and a re-compression scheduler 14 includes a compression setting table having a re-compression condition and an encoding method used in a compressing process. The re-compression condition and the encoding method are, in advance, established for each compressing timing. Then the scheduler 14 is activated in a predetermined interval and selects a program satisfying the re-compression condition among programs recorded by the recording unit 11. Abstract: The method of displaying sequences of the present invention adds visual characteristics in accordance with the mutations and/or similarities in a plurality of similar nucleotide sequences or amino acid sequences. These visual characteristics are added to regions of mutation and/or regions of similarity, and further, are added in accordance with the degree of mutation and/or similarity and in accordance with the frequency of mutation in the regions of mutation. In addition, nucleotide sequences are converted to amino acid sequences, and the visual characteristics are added based on amino acid information that includes the names or properties of amino acids that correspond to codons of the regions of mutation. Links are provided to information that relates to a plurality of similar nucleotide sequences or amino acid sequences. The homology search method of the present invention uses this sequence display method to display search results.

The automatic broadcast recording apparatus acquires program information including identification codes of the broadcast programs and broadcasting dates and times thereof. The automatic broadcast recording apparatus selects a program included in the timer recording pattern information from the program information and sets the program for timer recording.
