  • Patent number: 8827318
Abstract: A first component and a second component are connected with each other in a manner that a first passage of the first component and a second passage of the second component communicate with each other through a communication part. A seal component is disposed between the first component and the second component to provide a sealing between the first passage and the second passage. A ring component is arranged to surround the communication part, and is located adjacent to the communication part rather than the seal component. The ring component restricts the communication part from having an excess increase in a cross-sectional area.

  • Patent number: 7637117
Abstract: An air-conditioning system includes a refrigeration cycle and a control unit. The refrigeration cycle includes an electric compressor in which a compression mechanism for drawing a refrigerant therein for compression is integrated with an electric motor for driving the compression mechanism, and a motor drive circuit for driving the motor is cooled using an intake refrigerant drawn into the compression mechanism. The control unit provides operational control to the motor drive circuit and the refrigeration cycle. When the temperature of the motor drive circuit has exceeded a predetermined temperature, the control unit varies a condition of supplying air to exchange heat with the refrigerant flowing through the refrigeration cycle to thereby reduce the temperature of the intake refrigerant.

  • Patent number: 5653630
Abstract: An air conditioning apparatus with a film door for switching outlets to respective positions of a cabin. The film shaped door has a value of flexural rigidity per width of 10 mm in a range between 1.1 and 2.5 (.mu.Nm.sup.2). An amount of leaked air of 0.00175 (m.sup.2 /s) or less and an operating force of a step motor for driving the film shaped door of 50 (mN.times.m) or less are obtained.

  • Patent number: 5632672
Abstract: In an air conditioning device using a flexible film member as a blow mode switching door and by design leaking an amount of air from an air outlet in a blow mode, the amount of leaking air does not significantly change even though the position of the film member shifts from an optimal position. The width of a first opening in the device casing in the vertical direction (perpendicular to the direction of movement of the film member when shifting between blow modes) is shorter than a width of a second opening in the casing in the vertical direction. The length of a first air outlet facing the first opening portion in the direction of film member movement is greater than a predetermined length. Therefore, even if the position of the film in a foot mode is shifted, the area of the first opening is not significantly changed.

  • Patent number: 5326315
Abstract: A damper device for use in an air conditioner of a vehicle, which changes over the direction and volume of an air flow in an air conditioner when a screen (41) is slid. The screen has a laminated resin coat layer (8) or the resin film layer (5), and the cloth layer (7). The resin film layer (5) has excellent tensile and bending strength, and exhibits anti-creep properties, and further it inhibits elastic deformation or plastic deformation (initial elongation) that is the weak point of the cloth layer (7). The cloth layer (7) makes up for the tear strength that is a weak point of the resin film layer (5). The resin coat layer (8) makes up for anti-abrasion and low frictional properties that are weak points of the cloth layer (7). Each layer is provided with flexibility, moisture resistance and heat resistance, so that the entire arrangement of layers provides the necessary characteristics required for the screen.

  • Patent number: 5243830
Abstract: An air conditioning apparatus for an automobile in which a desired tension of a film damper is always maintained regardless of a movement of the film damper. A third shaft 14 is connected to a truncated conical-shaped first tapered pulley 21, and a fourth shaft 15 is connected to a truncated conical shaped second tapered pulley 22. The second film damper 18 is wound on the third and fourth shafts 14 and 15, and a second wire 20 is spirally wound onto the first and second tapered pulleys 21 and 22. The first and second tapered pulleys 21 and 22 are arranged such that they are oppositely tapered in such a manner that the amount of movement of the damper film 14 and the wire 20 is substantially equal, not only between the third shaft 14 as a drive shaft and the first pulley connected to the shaft 14, but also between the fourth shaft 15 as a driven shaft and the second pulley 22 connected to the shaft 15. Therefore, an excessive stretching and slackening of the damper film and the wire is prevented.

  • Patent number: 5162020
Abstract: An air-conditioner has a heater core in an air passage. A bypass passage is formed within the air passage and at a side portion of the heater core. A holding shaft is pivotally disposed at the boundary between an air-flow through the heater core and an air-flow through the bypass passage. A sliding shaft is disposed upstream of the heater core and slides to cross a substantially whole area of the air passage. A first end and second end of a variable length damper which varies its length are connected to the sliding shaft and the holding shaft respectively so that the variable length damper moves in such a manner that its length varies in response to a distance between the sliding shaft and the holding shaft.

  • Patent number: 5160115
Abstract: The apparatus for controlling a damper in an air conditioning system for a vehicle. The damper is used for selectively opening air outlets, and is constructed as a film damper having one end wound on a drive shaft rotatably supported in a casing. The drive shaft is formed as a hollow shaft having an axial bore therein, in which an electric motor with a reduction gear is arranged. The outer body of the motor is fixedly inserted to the shaft, and has an output shaft fixedly connected to the casing, so that a rotation of the motor causes a relative rotation between the motor body connected to the hollow shaft and the outlet shaft connected to the casing. As a result of the rotation of the motor body, the drive shaft is rotated, resulting in a desired movement of the film damper.

  • Patent number: 5154223
Abstract: An automotive air-conditioner has a heater core and a flexible film damper in a duct. A bypass passage is defined between the heater core and an inner wall of the duct. A heated air passage is defined downstream of the heater core. An air outlet for discharging air from the duct into a passenger compartment is disposed downstream of the duct. A flexible film damper having at least one damper opening therein is arranged to open and close the heated air passage, the bypass passage and the air outlet. The flexible film damper is driven by an driving mechanism to change the position of the damper opening so that the size of the air outlet is adjusted in response to the selected ratio of the cross-sectional areas between the heated air passage and the bypass passage.

  • Patent number: 5145456
Abstract: An automotive air-conditioner has a casing forming an air passage through which an air passes and a film damper slidably disposed in the casing in such a manner to face to the air passage. The film damper having openings opens and closes the air passage. Holes are disposed on the film damper for indicating a position of the opening: Photointerrupters are disposed on the casing to detect the holes and output a present position signal that shows a present position of the film damper. A mode setting portion outputs a target position signal that shows a target position of the film damper. A microcomputer compares the present position signal with the target position signal, so that the microcomputer controls the film damper to stop at the target position.
