    Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes a memory storing instructions, and a processor configured to execute the instructions to acquire information about an object size in first image data, acquire a parameter about an optical characteristic of an optical system, acquire, based on the parameter, a characteristic that changes according to the information about the object size, and generate second image data by applying the characteristic to the first image data. The parameter changes according to at least one of states of zoom, focus, and an aperture stop of the optical system. The processor is configured to change processing according to whether it is determined that the at least one state has changed.
