  • Patent number: 5932381
Abstract: The present invention relates to an electrophotographic printing plate having high sensitivity to various light sources, high surface smoothness, high water resistance and excellent printability. An electrophotographic lithographic printing plate according to the present invention comprises:a polyester film base having conductive layers on both surfaces thereof so that a surface resistance is from 0.1 to 10.sup.7 .OMEGA./.quadrature., said both surfaces being electrically communicated at an end thereof; anda layer of an electrophotosensitive material, which contains zinc oxide as a photoconductive material and a binder resin and has surface smoothness of 500 to 3000 seconds, provided on one of the surfaces of said base.

  • Patent number: 5219693
Abstract: Disclosed is a printing plate, for an electrophotographic process, which comprises an electroconductive support and a photosensitive layer formed on the electroconductive support, in which the photosensitive layer is formed by incorporating (a) a trisazo pigment represented by the general formula (I) and (b) at least one member selected from perynone pigments and anthanthrone pigments as photoconductive substances and (c) at least one electron donor substance as a sensitizer in an alkali-soluble binder resin. This printing plate has a high sensitivity and a printing image having a high quality is formed on the printing plate without contamination of the non-image area due to the electrophotography, and prints having a high-quality image can be obtained by using this printing plate.

  • Patent number: 5213919
Abstract: Disclosed is an eluting solution for eluting a non-image area of an electrophotographic printing plate having a toner image formed and fixed thereon by electrophotography, to expose a hydrophilic substrate or a substrate that can be rendered hydrophilic. This eluting solution is an aqueous solution containing at least an alkali chelating agent.

  • Patent number: 4838713
Abstract: The thermal transfer printer of the present invention is provided with a cam follower mounted on a thermal transfer head in one body and an eccentric cam, which is controlled within a semicircle so as to be positioned at either a first position for releasing it from the cam follower to press the thermal transfer head to a platen or a second position for pressing it to release the thermal transfer head from the platen, as a construction for pressing the thermal transfer head to the platen and releasing the thermal transfer head from the platen, whereby the mechanism for pressing the thermal transfer head to the platen and releasing the thermal transfer head from the platen itself can be remarkably small-sized and is simple in action due to its remarkably small working quantity, the printer can be small-sized as a whole and improved in reliability of operation as well as durability.

  • Patent number: 4784501
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a circuit for enhancing a fine line in the direction perpendicular to the arraying direction of the printing elements (i.e., in the direction of moving the printing paper) of a line printer which prints by applying either thermal elements or wires giving dot impact, and in which, for example, supposing the successive 4 printing elements comprising A, B, C and D, when the printing element C prints black and all others do white, the printing element C prints black and the other print while, the printing element B is made to print black to enhance a fine line by printing with two printing elements, so that the total visibility of the fine line is improved.
