  • Publication number: 20240034081
Abstract: There is provided a controller for an image forming system including a head in which a plurality of nozzles is formed. The controller includes: a first communication interface configured to communicate with a line sensor including imaging elements arranged at a predetermined interval and having an element-lacking-part at which an interval between two elements is larger than the predetermined interval; and a second communication interface. The controller is configured to: form a test pattern including patterns; obtain a test pattern data generated by imaging the test pattern with the line sensor; correct a position of the patterns on the test pattern data based on a position of the element-lacking-part; and detect a discharge-defect-nozzle based on the corrected test pattern data.

Abstract: There is provided a controller for an image forming system including a head in which nozzles are formed. The controller includes: a first communication interface; and a second communication interface. The controller is configured to: form a test pattern on a medium at first resolution by causing the head to discharge a liquid, via the second communication interface, the test pattern including patterns formed respectively by the nozzles; obtain a plurality of test pattern data via the first communication interface, the plurality of test pattern data being generated by imaging, at second resolution lower than the first resolution, the test pattern with an imaging device a plurality of times; and detect a discharge-defect-nozzle of the nozzles based on the plurality of test pattern data obtained from the imaging device.

  • Publication number: 20230060390
Abstract: There is provided image formation method for forming image on medium by discharging liquid from head having nozzles arranged in first direction and actuators corresponding respectively to the nozzles. The method includes: discharging the liquid onto the medium from the nozzles by applying first voltage to the actuators while performing relative displacement between the head and the medium in second direction intersecting the first direction; and applying second voltage higher than the first voltage to actuator, of the actuators, corresponding to correction nozzle, based on information identifying discharge defect nozzle being a nozzle, of the nozzles, unable to discharge the liquid normally, the correction nozzle being a nozzle, of the nozzles, adjacent to the discharge defect nozzle in the first direction.

  • Patent number: 9855778
Abstract: A method for setting a voltage applied to a head in an ink jet printer including the head that discharges ink according to an applied voltage includes a step of forming a test pattern on a medium by the ink discharged from the head, a step of measuring a film thickness of the test pattern, and a step of setting a voltage to be applied to the head based on the measured film thickness.

  • Patent number: 9665806
Abstract: A printing apparatus of the invention includes a medium information acquisition section that acquires medium information that can specify a type of a print medium, a printing section that discharges print ink to the print medium, a coating section that coats the print medium with precoat liquid before the printing section performs printing, and a coating control section that controls the coating section. The coating control section variably changes an amount of coating of the precoat liquid per unit area according to the acquired medium information.

  • Publication number: 20020185367
Abstract: The air B supplied from the air-sending device 23, constructing the recycling device 1 of the material to be processed, is kept in contact with the coolant A absorbed into or attached to the belt 4 for being dipped into liquid, wherein the air B inspired by the discharging device 49 is kept in contact with the coolant A dripping down or passing the plate 42 on which liquid flows down so that water from the coolant A will be evaporated when drying natural, thus increasing the density of ethylene glycol. The coolant A condensed to a given density is dripped down from the belt 4 for being dipped into liquid and the plate 42 on which liquid flows down so that, upon being reserved in the liquid recovering container 3 or the liquid reserving container 43, the coolant A, which is already recycled, is recovered from the container 3, 43.
