  • Patent number: 8064638
Abstract: An object is to provide a video evaluation apparatus and video evaluation method capable of appropriately evaluating a video consisting of a plurality of frame images, using an objective standard. The object is achieved as follows. A reference characteristic, which is a predetermined spatio-temporal frequency characteristic about a video, is stored, and a video characteristic analyzer 101 calculates a spatio-temporal frequency characteristic of a target video consisting of a plurality of frame images. Then a video evaluation determiner 102 calculates an evaluated value of the target video, based on a relative relation between the calculated spatio-temporal frequency characteristic and the stored reference characteristic. This enables appropriate evaluation of the video.

  • Publication number: 20110197096
Abstract: The disk controller has a plurality of channel control units, a plurality of cache memories, a plurality of disk control units, and a plurality of internal switch units. Each channel control unit or disk control unit sends to one of the cache memory units a request packet requesting execution of processing. The cache memory unit sends a response packet in response to the received request packet. Each internal switch unit monitors the request packet sent from the channel control unit or disk control unit, and judges whether or not the response packet to the request packet has passed through the internal switch unit within a first given time period since the passage of the request packet. In the case where the response packet has not passed through the internal switch unit within the first given time period, the internal switch unit sends a failure notification.

  • Publication number: 20110138139
Abstract: A method and storage system for increasing an amount of memory in a queuing area on. The storage system includes first and second storage subsystems connected to each other via a path. A primary volume in the first storage subsystem and a remote secondary volume in the second storage subsystem are mirrored and operated in the asynchronous mode. A queuing area having memory is provided in the second storage subsystem for temporarily storing data transferred to the second storage subsystem from the first storage subsystem in response to a write input/output (I/O) issued by a host to write data in the primary volume. Data temporarily stored in the memory is retrieved and stored in the remote secondary volume. An unused area of the queuing area is monitored and the memory increased if the unused area becomes less than a predetermined amount.

  • Patent number: 7877560
Abstract: When a plurality of disk control apparatuses function as one disk control apparatus with a mutual connecting network, a processor is used as an independent resource. Moreover, states of use of resources are monitored, and processing from distribution of the resources to allocation of control tasks is optimized promptly so as to be compatible with a user request. By promptly making system performance compatible with the user request according to the present invention, a state in which the user request and the system performance are alienated from each other for a long time is eliminated.
