  • Patent number: 6823789
Abstract: Divided shaft members constitute a cleaning fabric take-up shaft, and are secured at both ends by shaft member fixing means that is attached to a side plate. Shaft member fixing portions include a shaft end supporter, for supporting the end of the shaft member, and a plug that is fitted to a shaft receiving section. A wedge portion is provided, which runs across the center of the shaft end supporter and is projected linearly. When this wedge portion is inserted between the shaft members, the diameter of the shaft is increased. At this time, the winding of the cleansing fabric is performed. To dispose of the wound cleaning fabric, the shaft members are detached from the shaft member fixing portions and the wedge is extracted from the shaft members, so that the diameter is reduced, and the cleaning fabric is disengaged from the shaft members. As a result, the cleaning fabric take-up shaft can be removed from the cleaning fabric roll.

  • Patent number: 6035483
Abstract: A cleaning system employing a highly viscous cleaning agent. A highly viscous cleaning agent is placed on a strip of cleaning fabric whereby the strip of cleaning fabric is made functional for cleaning cylinders of printing presses. The strip of cleaning fabric is wrapped around the center piece. The strip of cleaning fabric may then be brought into contact with a cylinder to be cleaned in order to clean the cylinder. The highly viscous cleaning agent may be made by mixing a viscosity adding agent with a low volatility, organic compound solvent. Additionally, water or another additive may be mixed in for improved cleaning properties. The method of making the same is also discussed.

  • Patent number: 5996495
Abstract: The cylinder cleaning device according to the present invention is structured by independent components of a cleaning fabric supply element, a cleaning fabric take-up section, a cleaning fabric pressing section, and a brake section. The cleaning fabric supply element is formed by a flat box-form container. A shape-retaining member is provided on or in the vicinity of an inner surface of said container facing to a crease portion and/or a lateral portion of the cleaning fabric folded in multiplicity so as to act on the crease portion and/or the lateral portion of the cleaning fabric for retaining a folded shape of the cleaning fabric. The cleaning fabric supply element, the cleaning fabric take-up section, the brake section can desirably be arranged in a vacant space around the cylinder. Therefore, even in an existing machine the design for device structure is easy to design in a manner adapted for a vacant space without carrying out especial working.

  • Patent number: 5735204
Abstract: A dampening water circulation system achieves further lightweighting, easy maintenance and decreases a heat energy influencing the temperature of the dampening water. There are provide a dampening water supply pipe 50 and the dampening water pool bar 60 along the water fountain roller 20. The dampening water pool bar and the water fountain roller are arranged to maintain an aperture G of several mm to thereby form the water pool portion 70 between two members. The fed water can be kept in the dampening water pool portion to be applied on the water fountain roller. The dampening water pool portion is made small in size to minimize a time for the dampening water from the supply pipe 50 to the water fountain roller whereat the supplied water does not influenced by any foreign element, which can minimize the return water amount and is effective to decrease the cooling capacity for the used dampening water.

  • Patent number: 5565845
Abstract: An apparatus monitors the number of golf clubs in a golf bag during a round of golf game and warns a golfer if any of the golf clubs is missing. According to one preferred embodiment, a predetermined number of golf clubs is automatically detected, and the total number of the clubs is stored in a memory for a later comparison. During a round, the number of clubs is detected and compared to the stored initial number so as to determine if any club is missing. Upon determining that a club is missing, a warning is given to the golfer. This warning substantially reduces a risk of losing a club.

  • Patent number: 5367955
Abstract: Ink remaining on an ink roller (R) for applying ink to a plate cylinder is softened by a solvent, and then a cleaning cloth (4) is moved intermittently or continuously in press-contact with the ink roller so that an oil absorptive layer of the cleaning cloth absorbs and hold the softened ink. The cleaning cloth which has absorbed the ink is sent to a cleaning cloth disposing section (8) to be cut off by a cutter (3), or to be taken up by a set length by a taking-up roll to be wasted together with the taking-up roll. The cleaning cloth at least comprises an oil absorptive layer and an oil impermeable layer, and has good softened ink absorptiveness and is free from the leakage of the absorbed ink. Especially the cleaning cloth having a non-flowback oil impermeable layer can perfectly hold the absorbed ink, and has good disposability.
