  • Patent number: 9180886
Abstract: In a control device for a vehicle on which is mounted a continuously variable transmission capable of mechanically locking a primary pulley at the time of a maximum gear ratio (maximum Low), an idle rotational speed is not always set high to increase a hydraulic pressure at the time of stopping the vehicle. Instead, at the time of stopping the vehicle, when the gear ratio of the continuously variable transmission is the maximum gear ratio, normal idle rotational speed control is performed, and only when the gear ratio is not the maximum gear ratio, idle-up control is performed so that the idle rotational speed is set high, thereby the hydraulic pressure is set high. Thus, by restricting conditions in which the hydraulic pressure is set high by the idle-up control, it is possible to improve fuel efficiency while suppressing generation of a belt slip.

  • Patent number: 8539248
Abstract: Associating biometric information with passwords is disclosed. If biometric information received from a user matches stored biometric information, stored passwords associated therewith are retrieved. If these stored passwords are identical to access-enabling passwords, then the user is permitted to gain access associated with the access-enabling passwords. If the biometric information matches the stored biometric information but the stored passwords do not match the access-enabling passwords or are not present, then the user is requested to manually enter passwords, which are stored. If these stored passwords are identical to the access-enabling passwords, the user is permitted to gain access. However, if the biometric information does not match the stored biometric information, or if the biometric information has not been received from the user or is not present, then the user is requested to manually enter passwords.

  • Patent number: 8527166
Abstract: In a shift control device for a vehicular continuously variable transmission with an arrangement in which a normal shift mode is switched to an acceleration shift mode in response to an acceleration demand, a shift control is performed to prevent deterioration to running performance due to a transition to the acceleration shift mode by increased running resistance such as ascending road running or the like against a driver will. An acceleration demand determining value PAPL is set depending on a road surface gradient ? such that the shifting mode is more difficult to be switched to the acceleration shift mode in a larger road surface gradient ?, than in a smaller road surface gradient ?.

  • Patent number: 8489296
Abstract: In a controller for a belt-type continuously variable transmission including a hydraulic actuator that changes a groove width of a primary pulley, a hydraulic actuator that changes a groove width of a secondary pulley, and a belt clamping pressure control solenoid that controls the hydraulic pressure supplied to the hydraulic actuator of the secondary pulley, a mechanism calculates a transmission ratio between the primary pulley and the secondary pulley and determines whether or not there is belt slippage based on that calculated transmission ratio, and a mechanism determines normalcy of the belt clamping pressure control solenoid. The input torque when belt slippage has actually occurred, i.e., when a failure has been determined, is used as a condition when performing the normalcy determination.

  • Patent number: 8478474
Abstract: A diagnostic apparatus and a diagnostic method are provided for a belt squeezing force adjusting mechanism of a continuously variable transmission in which a belt is wound around a primary sheave that receives driving force and a secondary sheave that outputs force to a drive line, and which continuously changes the output rotation speed by adjusting the width of the groove the primary sheave and the secondary sheave by shift control. This diagnostic determines, as a precondition, whether a target control value calculated in shift control is in a low region, and performs a diagnostic on the belt squeezing force adjusting mechanism based on the relationship between an actual control value and the target control value during control to reduce a control value when it is determined that the precondition is satisfied. According to this diagnostic apparatus and diagnostic method, an erroneous diagnosis can be prevented so the diagnostic can be performed accurately.

  • Patent number: 8160985
Abstract: When a mobile telephone requests a web server for HTML page data containing a link, the server generates an identifier and appends the identifier to the link. An HTML page containing the link with the appended identifier is generated by the server and is transmitted to the telephone. If content of the link is requested by the telephone, then the content is transmitted to the telephone and an access log entry is recorded at the server. The log entry includes the identifier and the content request. If identifiers are found to be in common, the number of times this content was accessed is construed to be a single time. Even if a single item of content is divided into multiple portions and requested multiple times, the number of multiple times is treated as being a single time. The number of times access was performed can be calculated comparatively accurately.

  • Publication number: 20110072341
Abstract: In response to a browsing request of a document file from a cellular phone, a document image generation server loads the document file into a RAM. A font size detection section detects font sizes contained in the document file. A document division section divides the document file into predetermined units having approximately the same two dimensional size. A resolution determination section determines a resolution of each document image to be generated from the document file on a unit-by-unit basis in accordance with the smallest font size contained in the unit. A conversion section converts the document file into the document images on a unit-by-unit basis so that each document image has the determined resolution.

  • Patent number: 7788010
Abstract: A controlling system of a vehicle with a continuously variable transmission, which can render a sufficient accelerating feeling in responsive to a driver's requirement. A controller, upon judgment of an acceleration requirement, sets a target drive force higher than the target drive force upon normal calculation upon normal operation of an accelerator pedal, and sets a target rotation speed upon acceleration higher than the target rotation speed upon the normal operation and increasing with an increase of the vehicle speed by a predetermined gradient. The speed change ratio of the continuously variable transmission and the output torque of the engine are controlled such that the set target drive force is achieved, and an input shaft rotation speed of the continuously variable transmission coincides with the target rotation speed upon the set acceleration. Thus upon acceleration, the target drive force and the output rotation speed of the drive source increase.

  • Patent number: 7706950
Abstract: A continuously variable transmission 18 changes a speed-change ratio ? so that an actual rotation speed NIN of an input shaft 36 coincides with a target rotation speed NIN* set based on a target output P*. A target output calculating portion 156 calculates a first target drive force related value P1* based on both an acceleration required amount Acc and a load of an auxiliary machine AUX, calculates a second target drive force related value P2* based on the acceleration required amount without considering the auxiliary machine load, and sets the second drive force related value as the drive force related value P* upon a vehicle regular running. Even when the auxiliary machine load fluctuates in the vehicle regular running the target output does not fluctuate, and prevention of fluctuation of the target output rotation speed increases the drivability in the vehicle regular running.
