    Abstract: An engagement fixture of a shoulder belt is connected to and supported by an engagement buckle disposed in a vehicle interior. When a platform is positioned in a getting in/out position in a vehicle exterior, the engagement fixture of the shoulder belt can be temporarily connected to a temporary fastening fixture provided to the platform. To the contrary, when the platform is positioned in a loading position in a vehicle interior, a connection condition of the engagement fixture of the shoulder belt can be changed from a temporary connection of the fastening fixture to a securely supportable connection of an engagement buckle in the vehicle interior. Thus, it is possible to simplify a belt attaching operation after a wheelchair is loaded in a vehicle while a columnar support member used in the conventional platform is abolished.

The adhesive material adheres the first substrate and the second substrate, wherein an outer periphery of the adhesive material includes a zone which includes a plurality of first portions passing substantially the same position as an outer periphery of the surface of the first substrate and a plurality of second portions each connected with the two neighboring first portions and having a center portion thereof in a peripheral direction retracted toward an inner peripheral side of the adhesive material.

    Abstract: An image-forming apparatus forms a test image on a sheet being transported. The test image includes a defect detection image for image defect detection and a plurality of marks for detecting the angle of inclination of the test image on the sheet in a two-dimensional plane extending in a transport direction of the sheet and a width direction of the sheet crossing the transport direction. The plurality of marks are formed at positions remote from each other in a central region of the sheet in the width direction. The image-forming apparatus then reads the test image, detects the plurality of marks, calculates the angle of inclination of the test image based on the plurality of marks, corrects the test image for inclination based on the calculated angle of inclination, and detects an image defect based on corrected-image data representing the corrected test image.

    Abstract: A distance between a liquid crystal display panel set on a lower support mechanism and a front window set on an upper support mechanism is accurately determined by a stopper. An ultraviolet irradiation mask is provided on the front window. A part of the ultraviolet curable resin corresponding to a transmission pattern of the ultraviolet irradiation mask is temporarily cured through ultraviolet irradiation. The temporarily adhered structure of the liquid crystal display panel and the front window is taken from an attachment device to be left standing for a predetermined time period on a tray until an area and a thickness of the ultraviolet curable resin reach respective predetermined values. The ultraviolet light is then irradiated to an entire surface of the ultraviolet curable resin to finalize the adhesion. The time for which the attachment device is occupied is short, thus improving an operation rate of the device.

The photocuring resin is arranged to face the liquid crystal in an opposed manner. The light is allowed to advance to the inside of the photocuring resin from an edge portion of the photocuring resin. The light is allowed to advance to the inside of the reinforcing plate from an edge portion of the reinforcing plate, is propagated in the inside of the reinforcing plate, and is irradiated to the photocuring resin from the reinforcing plate at a position away from the edge portion of the reinforcing plate.

    Abstract: In a ratchet-type tensioner having a plunger with rack teeth formed thereon and a piston with ratchet teeth that engage the rack teeth, the ratchet teeth can be disengaged from the rack teeth by insertion of a tool through a tool insertion hole in the tensioner housing and exerting a prying action on the toothed end of the piston to move the piston away from the plunger. Alternatively if an oblique camming surface is formed on the toothed end of the piston, the ratchet teeth can be disengaged from the rack teeth by pushing the tool inward against the oblique camming surface. The piston and the hole in which it slides are shaped to prevent rotation of the piston. The ratchet teeth on the piston and the rack teeth on the plunger can be oblique to allow setback of the plunger when excessive force is exerted on the plunger.

    Abstract: An ultraviolet-curable resin is formed over a touch panel, and a liquid crystal display panel is bonded to the touch panel. Subsequently, an ultraviolet-curable resin is formed over the touch panel, and a front window is bonded to the touch panel. While the ultraviolet-curable resin is cured unevenly due to a black-frame print made around the periphery of the front window, the touch panel and the counter substrate of the liquid crystal display panel are already bonded together at this time. This prevents the uneven cure of the ultraviolet-curable resin from distorting the counter substrate alone. As a result, it is possible to avoid unevenness of the gap between the counter substrate and the TFT substrate of the liquid crystal display panel and the resulting yellowing around the periphery.

    Abstract: Deaeration of the high pressure oil chamber of a hydraulic tensioner takes place though a helical orifice formed by opposed flanks of the threads of a threaded hole in the tensioner housing and the threads of a screw inserted into the hole. The opposed flanks are maintained in spaced relationship by a force exerted by a spring washer disposed between the head of the screw and a surface of the tensioner housing surrounding the opening of the threaded hole. The flank of the thread of the hole that forms part of the boundary of the helical orifice can have a concave curvature in order to increase the aperture of the air flow path. A groove in the surface surrounding the opening of the threaded hole prevents the washer from sealing off the flow of air. This groove is disposed with its exit end at a level above its entry end.
