  • Patent number: 8341703
Abstract: In remotely coupling one terminal apparatus to a server apparatus, if an authentication processing of a user of one terminal apparatus has been already completed, the user can switch one terminal apparatus to another without an additional authentication processing. Authenticated information indicating that the authentication of the user has already been successfully completed is transferred to another terminal apparatus by coordinating the authenticated information between more than one terminal apparatuses. Another terminal apparatus receives a service from the server apparatus using the authenticated information. Upon coordinating the authenticated information among more than one terminal apparatuses, another terminal apparatus to receive the authenticated information may be authenticated. A storage medium which conducts the authentication may be coupled to a terminal apparatus to be authenticated.

  • Patent number: 7996911
Abstract: In order to protect the user security data, provided is a memory card capable of preventing the data leakage to a third party not having the access authority by imposing the limitation on the number of password authentications and automatically erasing the data. In a system comprised of a multimedia card and a host machine electrically connected to the multimedia card and controlling the operations of the multimedia card, a retry counter for storing the number of password authentication failures is provided and the upper limit of the number of failures is registered in a register. When passwords are repeatedly entered once, twice, . . . and n times and the retry counter which counts the entries reaches the upper limit of the number of failures, the data is automatically erased so as not to leave the data in the flash memory.

  • Publication number: 20100261452
Abstract: A coupling authentication of a mobile phone terminal is performed between the mobile phone terminal and an authentication server. Both the mobile phone terminal and an authentication server store therein coupling authentication information. In performing an authentication at a service device, the mobile phone terminal generates service authentication information using coupling authentication information and transmits the generated service authentication information to the authentication server. The authentication server performs the authentication using the coupling authentication information and the service authentication information and transmits a result of a service authentication to the service device. The service device determines whether or not the service authentication has been successfully completed, based on the service authentication result.

  • Publication number: 20080091900
Abstract: The disclosed invention effectively prevents fraudulent access to data whose usage is restricted to a time limit, such access attempted by manipulating the clock internal to a playback device and a terminal device. A nonvolatile memory device of the invention comprises a control circuit and a nonvolatile memory circuit which includes a storage region for restriction information to restrict access to contents information provided by web-based rental service. The restriction information includes access time limit information and access time stamp information. The control circuit performs an access decision action which comprises deciding whether access to the contents information is enabled or disabled, based on real time information which is supplied externally and the restriction information, and updating the access time stamp information to the realtime information.

  • Publication number: 20030110361
Abstract: A nonvolatile memory is configured inclusive of a memory unit including a data area capable of writing data therein, and a management area capable of writing therein management information about the data written into the data area, and a memory control unit for controlling the operation of the memory unit. Under such a configuration, there is provided control means for instructing rewriting of next data with respect to a write error produced in the data area without instructing rewriting of the same data, and instructing rewriting of the same data with respect to a write error produced in the management area. Owing to its provision, an effective record rate can be avoided from falling below a rate for write data.
