  • Patent number: 5244194
Abstract: A pair of slide plates are vertically displaceably fixed to the opposed front surfaces of a fixed jaw and a movable jaw constituting a vice. An arbitrary number of presser members for pressing a work are fixed on the upper surfaces of the fixed jaw and the movable jaw. The work is placed on upper ends of the slide plates adjusted in height, and a pressure from setscrews of the presser members is applied to the upper surface of the work. Accordingly, even when the work is a thin plate-shaped work, it can be stably held to prevent possible vertical curving of the work.

  • Patent number: 5128097
Abstract: Herein disclosed is a reactor core including a plurality of fuel assemblies having a plurality of fuel rods. In a central region of the transverse section of the fuel assembly, a plurality of fuel rods are arranged in the form of a square lattice. In the peripheral region surrounding the central region, a plurality of fuel rods are arranged in the form of triangular lattice. The pitch of the fuel rods arranged in the square lattice form is equal to that of the fuel rods arranged in the triangular lattice form. With the arrangement of the fuel rods in the triangular lattice form in the peripheral region, the ratio of the moderator to the fuel of the peripheral region is smaller than that of the central region. As a result, the local power peaking drops. Since the arrangement of the fuel rods is partially in the triangular lattice form, the pitch of the fuel rods can be increased to augment the MCPR.

  • Patent number: 5073974
Abstract: In a hot standby transmitter system, each of a pair of identical transmitters, one of which is a primary and another one is a standby, includes an image-cancel type mixer, which outputs upper or lower sideband waves of a local frequency, according to its internal connection controlled by a switch controller. The switch controller controls the internal switches and an RF switch, so that the primary transmitter outputs a predetermined primary one of the sidebands and the standby transmitter outputs another sideband. The RF switch selectively connects the output of the primary transmitter to an antenna. The standby transmitter undesirably outputs a small level of the primary sideband even though it should be theoretically zero.

  • Patent number: 5066068
Abstract: A panel moving mechanism for a sunshine roof of the type in which the rear end of a panel for closing an opening of the roof of a vehicle is raised and lowered. The mechanism includes a shoe and an arm which are pivotally connected. A pair of pins protrude from the arm and are inserted into respective guide grooves provided in a guide block and a bracket connected to the panel. The longitudinal axes of these guide grooves are bent at the middle sections thereof and are arranged in such a manner that they are not parallel. When the shoe moves toward the front end of the vehicle, the arm is gradually brought to a raised position, thereby raising the rear end of the panel. When the shoe moves toward the rear end of the vehicle, the arm is gradually brought to a horizontal position, thereby lowering the rear end of the panel.
