  • Patent number: 4834564
Abstract: A paper feed control apparatus for a dot printer is provided which supplies a step pulse to a stepping motor in a one-pitch feed mode at an interval of a reference time to intermittently rotate the stepping motor in increments of a step angle, and which also supplies a step pulse to the stepping motor in a multi-pitch feed mode at an interval of a time shorter than the reference time to continuously rotate the stepping motor over a plurality of step angles. A motor drive control circuit is adapted to supply a step pulse to the stepping motor in the multi-pitch feed mode at a gradually shorted time interval, and to supply a final step pulse to the stepping motor in a final portion of a driving cycle when the reference time passes after the generation of the step pulse.

  • Patent number: 4526713
Abstract: In a treatment system of radioactive waste solution including sodium sulfate generated from a boiling water type nuclear reactor, waste solution is fed into a thin film evaporator where the waste solution is evaporated and made into powder while precipitating in a peripheral surface of the evaporator vessel. The surface of the precipitated solid is wiped by rotating wiper blades and removed off as radioactive solid powder. The rotational speed of a rotor to which the wiper blades are secured is controlled at a minimum and necessary rotational speed which contributes to make the waste solution into the powder so that the rate of worn out of the wiper blade is decreased.

  • Patent number: 4459464
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an electric cigar lighter for use, for example in vehicles, having a circuit breaker. The circuit breaker includes an elongated fuse member having a fuse and a tube for covering the fuse. The tube has a melting point slightly lower than that of the fuse. Therefore, when the fuse melts and separates in two parts upon overheating of a heating element carried by an igniting of the lighter, the separated ends of the fuse are wrapped by the separated ends of the tube. Thus, even if the separated ends of the fuse member contact some portions of the lighter placed adjacent to the fuse member or other members, a short circuit can be prevented.

  • Patent number: 4341595
Abstract: A rotary vane type evaporator has a cylindrical vessel and a rotor rotatable therein. The rotor has vane supports fixed to a rotor shaft and vanes each pivotally mounted at the radially inner end to a vane support and having a radially outer end connected with a shoe extending in the circumferential direction of the vessel. Each vane is provided with a balance weight acting to keep constant, irrespective of the wear of the shoe, the pressing force which urges the shoe against the vessel inner peripheral surface. The rotor vanes are disposed in a plurality of stages arranged in axial direction of the rotor. The rotor is so constructed as to uniformalize the wear of the vane shoes over all the stages, whereby the frequency of the interruption of the evaporator operation for the renewal of vanes is lowered to improve the rate of the operation of the evaporator.

  • Patent number: 4268409
Abstract: An aqueous solution containing granular ion exchange resin and filter aid as a radioactive waste generated from a nuclear power plant is supplied to the casing of a centrifugal film dryer, which comprises a casing, a rotating shaft inserted in the casing, rotating blades fixed to the rotating shaft within the casing, and a heating means for heating the wall surface of the casing. The aqueous solution flows down along the heated inside wall of the casing while the rotating shaft is rotated. Water of the aqueous solution is evaporated, while the granular ion exchange resin and the filter aid are turned into powder by the action of rotating blades in rotation. The powder is led to a pelletizer, and shaped into pellets. The pellets are filled in a drum, and asphalt is then filled in the drum. After the solidification of the asphalt, the drum is tightly sealed.
