  • Patent number: 4448855
Abstract: The present invention is intended for a heat resistant reflector in which a light reflective metal is vacuum coated on a metal or inorganic material substrate and in which on the surface of the vacuum coated layer is further vacuum coated a light transmissible ceramic and preferably, a ceramic having a crystalline substance. This reflector has a light reflective metal and a ceramic vacuum coated together, and thus, can form a thin film of the same replica as a substrate. Therefore, there is very little refraction or absorption of light due to a protective film, cnanges of total reflectivity, regular reflectivity or refractivity are very few and its manufacture as well is simple because of continuous vacuum coating with one and the same coating machine.

  • Patent number: 4431268
Abstract: A reflector has a base body which is made of a metallic material having an ionization potential substantially higher than that of aluminum. An aluminum reflecting layer is formed on one surface of the base body by vacuum deposition. Furthermore, a light-transmitting water-insoluble inorganic oxide layer is formed on the aluminum reflecting layer. The light-transmitting inorganic oxide layer has its micropores sealed by H.sub.2 O or a carboxylate of an iron family element having a low valence. An insulating layer is formed to cover at least the other surface and the peripheral side of the base body.

  • Patent number: 4364637
Abstract: The present invention relates to a plastic reflector having high reflective properties and the method of preparing the same. The reflector is obtained by disposing a reflective film in which a light-reflective metal is coated by a vacuum coating method on one or all sides of a molded body made of polymeric materials or the derivative thereof and further by disposing a light-transmissible coated film in which an inorganic substance selected from metallic oxides and oxides of amphoteric elements or a derivative thereof is vacuum coated on the reflective film.

  • Patent number: 4348463
Abstract: The reflector of the present invention is the one in which on a substrate are successively arranged a resin layer, preferably, a resin layer having a molar percentage of an aryl group/(alkyl group plus aryl group) is 65-100%, a vacuum deposited layer of a light reflective metal and a light transmissible crystalline ceramic layer in this order. Pinholes or non-smoothness on the substrate is eliminated by disposing the resin layer on the substrate, and a vacuum deposited layer of a light reflective metal having a smooth surface is easily obtained. And on the surface thereof is disposed a vacuum coated layer of the light transmittable crystalline ceramic, and hence, without taking the reflector out of a vacuum depositor, it can be vacuum deposited continuously and its manufacture is very easy.

  • Patent number: 4340646
Abstract: The reflector of the present invention is a multi-layer reflector comprising a substrate with or without a resin layer coated thereon; a light-reflective metal layer vacuum-coated on said substrate; and a protective layer consisting of a light transmittable resin layer and a light transmittable, preferably vacuum-coated, inorganic substance layer coated on said metal layer. By this, each film can be thin as compared with each individual protective film, which leads to good heat conductivity low temperature rise, high impact strength and good durability and which gives clear reflected images or high precision light collective and light distributing properties. In addition, the coated light-reflective metal shows better regular reflectivity, giving clear and sharp reflected images and allowing more accurate light collective or light distributing properties.

  • Patent number: 4290288
Abstract: A device for narrowing the breadth of a sheet spring material in an apparatus for manufacturing a taper leaf spring by which the sheet spring is previously subjected to breadth narrowing operation with edge rollers before taper rolling.A shape for narrowing the breadth of a sheet spring material is calculated so that a product after rolling may be within the tolerance. Then, a shape of template thus obtained is detected by a pair of detecting rollers to regulate the interval between the work rollers automatically before taper rolling.

  • Patent number: 4285227
Abstract: In an apparatus for manufacturing a taper leaf spring, by which after performing rolling on the edges of a sheet spring material in the direction of its breadth, rolling for tapering the sheet in the direction of its thickness is carried out, an edge roll assembly is employed for the sake of rolling in the breadth direction. In the edge roll assembly, constraining flanges for regulating the sheet thickness are provided on both ends of the main body of the edge roll so that expansion of both sides of a sheet spring material in the sheet thickness direction due to the effect of rolling in the sheet breadth direction is suppressed by the flanges and the thickness of a sheet spring material is kept uniform as a whole prior to performing rolling in the sheet thickness direction.

  • Patent number: 4215558
Abstract: A process of manufacturing a taper leaf spring by which rollers for measuring the length and the thickness are respectively disposed on the take-out side of a material plate for a taper leaf spring relative to a pair of rolling rollers, and also rollers for measuring the breadth are disposed on the same take-out side; rolling for regulating the breadth is beforehand performed by a pair of edge rollers on the take-in side of the material plate relative to the pair of rolling rollers; the distance of the interval between both rolling rollers is adjusted by comparing signals coming from the rollers for measuring the length and the thickness with the standard signals based on the predetermined specifications of the length and the thickness; the regulation of the breadth by means of the pair of edge rollers is controlled by comparing the signal from the breadth measuring rollers with the standard signal based on the predetermined specification; so that the material plate is rolled to a taper as desired.

  • Patent number: 4161549
Abstract: A method of improving previously conventionally dried coffee beans before roasting is disclosed. The method is particularly suitable for treating such beans that have been subjected to adverse storage conditions and are not suitable for roasting by conventional methods. The method essentially comprises drying or tempering the previously dried green coffee beans at a first temperature and a first humidity which are determined by the conditions under which the coffee beans have been adversely stored, and then tempering the coffee beans to generally uniform temperature or humidity for flavor development under atmospheric pressure at a second temperature generally higher than the first temperature and at a second higher humidity.
