  • Publication number: 20050288467
Abstract: The present invention provides a cationic conductor comprising a block copolymer comprising: a polymer moiety having a structural unit represented by formula (1): wherein R represents an organic group obtained via polymerization of monomer compounds having polymerizable unsaturated linkages; Q represents an n+1-valence organic group bonded to R through a single bond; Z represents a functional group capable of forming an ionic bond to or having coordination ability to a cation; Mk+ represents a k-valence cation; and n and m are each independently an integer of 1 or larger, provided that Z forms an ionic or coordination bond to a cation; and a polymer moiety having addition polymerizable monomers.

  • Publication number: 20050275332
Abstract: A pair of velocity modulation coils are placed with a horizontal plane including a tube axis interposed therebetween, and a pair of magnetic substances are placed with a vertical plane including a tube axis interposed therebetween. A straight line portion of the velocity modulation coil extending substantially in parallel to the tube axis is placed between the magnetic substance and the tube axis. An interval D between the magnetic substance and the straight line portion is 1 to 3 mm. Assuming that the tube axis is a Z-axis, a size of the velocity modulation coil in a tube axis direction is L, and a position of an end of the velocity modulation coil on a side opposite to a phosphor screen in the tube axis direction is Z=0, a center point of the pair of magnetic substances in the tube axis direction is present in a range of Z=0.2×L to 0.9×L. Consequently, the sensitivity of velocity modulation can be enhanced while suppressing an increase in a driving power with a simple configuration.

  • Publication number: 20050206329
Abstract: A deflection coil for deflecting an electron beam emitted from an electron gun is provided outside a cathode-ray tube in which the electron gun is housed, and a phosphor screen is formed. The cathode-ray tube further includes a velocity modulation coil for modulating a horizontal scanning velocity of an electron beam, a first magnetic substance surrounding an outer circumference of the cathode-ray tube from outside the velocity modulation coil, and a second magnetic substance surrounding the outer circumference of the cathode-ray tube between the deflection coil and the first magnetic substance. Because of this, the sensitivity of velocity modulation can be enhanced effectively with a simple configuration while deflection distortion is prevented.

  • Publication number: 20050200263
Abstract: A plurality of magnet rings for correcting a convergence are arranged in a tube axis direction with spacers interposed therebetween, on an outer circumferential surface of a neck. A velocity modulation coil for modulating a scanning velocity in a horizontal direction of an electron beam is placed so that a position of the velocity modulation coil in the tube axis direction is overlapped with those of the magnet rings. At least one of the spacers is made of only a magnetic substance. Alternatively, at least one of the spacers is made of a magnetic substance, and the outermost surface in a radius direction of the spacer made of a magnetic substance is covered with a non-metallic material. Because of this, the magnetic field formed by the velocity modulation coil can be intensified without disturbing the magnetic field of the magnet rings of a CPU.

  • Patent number: 6217969
Abstract: A sputtering target disk is provided which is comprised of a sintered silicon carbide having a density of 2.9 g/cm3 or more and obtained by sintering a uniform mixture of a powder of silicon carbide and a nonmetallic auxiliary sintering agent. The sputtering target disk is advantageously used in a sputtering treatment to form thin films with high purity which are suitable for use in various parts of electronic devices. The sputtering target disk exhibits excellent mechanical properties, electric properties, and durability against uneven wear.

  • Patent number: 6187704
Abstract: A heater member is formed of a silicon carbide sintered body. The silicon carbide sintered body includes silicon carbide powder and a non-metal-based sintering auxiliary, and is obtained by sintering a homogeneous mixture of the silicon carbide powder and the non-metal-based sintering auxiliary. The silicon carbide sintered body is formed to have a density of 2.9 g/cm3 or higher. Further, the silicon carbide sintered body is preferably obtained by hot pressing, and also preferably has physical properties of a volume resistivity of 10 &OHgr;cm or less and a total content of impurity elements of 1 ppm or less.

  • Patent number: 6048060
Abstract: A printing medium discharge apparatus used for discharging a printing medium from a rotary drum in an ink jet printer for printing a desired image onto the printing medium by an ink jet while holding the printing medium on the rotary drum, includes a printing medium carry and discharge device and a printing medium press device. The printing medium carry and discharge device carries thereon the printing medium from the rotary drum, on the printing medium an image having been printed, to make a non-image formation surface of the printing medium including no image formation region contact the printing medium carry and discharge device, and discharges the printing medium carried thereon to be moved apart from the rotary drum.

  • Patent number: 6001144
Abstract: A process of gasifying waste containing organic substances which may be combusted or gasified by means of partial oxidation in the presence of air or oxygen and steam. The gasification process includes the step of adjusting the molar ratio of steam/carbon (H.sub.2 O/C) for supplied steam and the organic substances containing carbon to a desired ratio. The process continues with partial oxidation at about 700.degree. C. to about 900.degree. C. and discontinuing the steam supply while continuing only air or oxygen supply to combust the remaining combustibles having carbon as their major component.
