  • Publication number: 20080190060
Abstract: A generally rigid batt for use as wall board, insulating paneling or acoustic paneling. The batt is formed of wood chips, recycled paper and a binder synthetic fibers, and a binder which are thoroughly mixed and evenly dispersed throughout. The wood chips, recycled paper and synthetic fibers are compressed into a batt of desired density, height and width. The shaped batt is heated causing the binder to become molten and bond the synthetic fibers, wood chips and reconstituted paper together. The shaped batt is cooled forming a generally rigid structure.

  • Patent number: 7386919
Abstract: Apparatus and method of recycling finished textile products into reusable fibers. The arrangement includes a confined chamber of diminishing width through which the textile product is moved. The chamber comprises a stationary side with rows of circumferentially arranged teeth separated by circumferentially arranged channels and a rotating side with radially arranged teeth separated by radially extending channels. The product is delivered to the channel where the teeth and the rotating action urge the product into and through the channel while progressively grinding and rendering it into fiber form.

  • Publication number: 20080096453
Abstract: The present invention provides an insulating batt of non-woven fibers. This batt is comprised of synthetic fibers, natural fibers, bonding materials or any mixture thereof. It is characterized by an axis of length, an axis of width, and an axis of thickness, wherein the extreme fibers at one end of said axis of thickness form the proximal face of the batt, and the extreme fibers at the other end of said axis of thickness form the distal face of the batt and wherein either said distal face, said proximal face or both faces are essentially non-planar faces.

  • Patent number: 7325277
Abstract: An arrangement for forming a fiber web in which fibers are compacted while remaining evenly distributed through the upper and lower surfaces. The arrangement includes a cabinet for receiving opened and blending fibers, and a fiber web forming chute receiving the fibers from the cabinet. The forming chute includes an upper and a lower wall which engage with and assist with the movement of the fibers through and out of the web forming chute. A packing member is positioned adjacent the exit end, engages with and compresses the emerging fiber web to a desired density and height. An air flow system acts to pass a flow of air through the chute from its entrance. The flow of air engages with the fibers during their passage through the chute. The air flow system includes an air removal system which is located in the upper wall and the packing member. The removal system causes the air to exit the web forming chute upwardly, passing through the web.

  • Patent number: 7111366
Abstract: The present invention provides a novel carding machine for preparing a continuous non-woven fibrous web. This machine is comprised of a succession of carding cylinders including a first carding cylinder and subsequently a final carding cylinder; said cylinders are in communication with one or more carding rolls—doffers and/or randomizing rolls arranged in juxtaposition and rotate wherein their axes horizontal; at least one feeding inlet unit in communication with said first carding cylinder; and at least one product outlet in communication with said last carding cylinder, wherein one or more product outlets commenced form said carding succession, previous to said final carding cylinder, The present invention also provides for a cost effective method for maintaining fiber density on the carding cylinder while increasing production rate of the machine through the discharge of a certain amount of fully opened fibers from the cylinder.
