  • Patent number: 7106254
Abstract: The invention provides for a planar antenna assembly supported on a substrate. The antenna includes a monopole element, at least one grounded parasitic element located proximate the monopole element, wherein each grounded parasitic element is grounded to a planar ground plane and incorporates a conductive profile shaped so that the separation between the parasitic element and the monopole adjacent it, varies along the length of the parasitic element. In one embodiment, the separation between the monopole and the parasitic element is provided by a stepped or angled edge on the or each grounded parasitic element, and the profile faces and extends away from monopole element. The antenna may include two grounded parasitic elements located on opposite sides of the monopole element and the, or each, grounded parasitic element may include a foot extending towards a base part of the monopole element which is adjacent the ground plane.

  • Patent number: 7095371
Abstract: An antenna assembly is designed to operate over a wide band from around 880 MHz to around 2,500 MHz by means of a monopole antenna element designed to operate from around 880 MHz to around 2,500 MHz typically from the GSM bands to the Bluetooth or IEEE 802.11b band. The operation band width of the assembly is increased by the provision of a conductive member located on a reverse side of the supporting substrate of the antenna. In one embodiment the conductive member is a standard panel mount SMA connector. The assembly is able to provide wireless operation in multiple frequency bands, not previously possible in a practical manner.

  • Patent number: 7030830
Abstract: The invention provides a dual-access antenna fabricated on a substrate. In one embodiment, the antenna includes a first monopole element, at least one grounded parasitic element located proximate the first monopole element, wherein the separation between the monopole and the grounded parasitic element exhibits a conductive profile which varies the waveguide characteristics of the antenna assembly. The conductive profile is provided by a stepped or angled profile on the or each grounded parasitic element which faces and extends away from first monopole element. This antenna covers the frequency range 900 to 2300 MHz. The antenna includes a secondary grounded element located at an outer position relative to the or an associated grounded parasitic element. In a preferred embodiment, the antenna includes two grounded parasitic elements located on opposite sides of the first monopole element.

  • Patent number: 5717766
Abstract: The present invention relates to sound reproduction apparatus comprising stereophonic amplifier means for amplifying left and right signals from any stereo emission source, and a plurality of loudspeakers disposed in two groups, namely one group on the left of a listening direction and another group on the right thereof, each group respectively receiving the amplified left signal and the amplified right signal. The number of said loudspeakers is even and not less than four, the loudspeakers being situated in pairs on axes that are vertical or substantially vertical, with all of the emission faces of said loudspeakers being placed on a surface of continuous curvature, and with the respective vertical and horizontal distances between said loudspeakers being determined as a function of the size of the loudspeakers and as a function of the listening volume.
