  • Publication number: 20110281105
Abstract: The invention relates to a polyelectrolyte-based nanostructured anticorrosion coating, comprising at least one main compartment which comprises: a polyelectrolyte multilayer (1) doped with at least one anticorrosion agent (4), and an upper multilayer (2a) acting as a barrier to the diffusion of the dopants, and whose upper surface corresponds to the upper surface of the main compartment, and optionally one or more secondary compartments, each comprising: a polyelectrolyte multilayer (8; 11) doped with at least one functional agent other than an anticorrosion agent, and an upper multilayer (2b; 2c) acting as a barrier to the diffusion of the dopants, and whose upper surface corresponds to the upper surface of the secondary compartment. The invention also relates to a structure comprising a metallic substrate and such a coating, and also to its use in the aeronautical or aerospace field and to the process for preparing it.

  • Publication number: 20110108899
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a patterned ferroelectric polymer memory medium is disclosed, which includes forming an electrode on a substrate; forming a ferroelectric polymer thin film on the electrode; and patterning and orienting the polymer thin film into a plurality of nanostructures by embossing techniques. Also disclosed are two methods which include forming nanofeatures in an interlayer dielectric (ILD) layer deposited on a substrate; forming a ferroelectric polymer thin film on the ILD layer in the nanofeatures; and patterning and orienting the polymer thin film into a plurality of nanostructures by pressing. The patterning process followed by an annealing process promotes specific crystal orientation, which significantly reduces the operation voltage, and increases the signal-to-noise ratio. The invention also covers devices made of a ferroelectric polymer layer oriented by such an embossing method and the use of such devices at a coercive field of 10 MV/m or less.

  • Publication number: 20100273672
Abstract: A sensor for detecting the presence of predetermined chemical/biological molecules, the sensor having a MOSFET device (2, 3, 6, 7, 9, 10, 12, 13), the gate having an array of nanoscale fingers (6,7), and on fingers or in spaces between the fingers, chemical/biological receptor molecules (15) suitable for selectively binding with the predetermined chemical/biological molecules, the sensor also having circuitry (4, 5, 11, 12) for measuring a change in a change in drain current of the FET caused by the predetermined chemical/biological molecules becoming bound to the receptor molecules. Sensitivity and reliability can be increased compared to capacitive sensors.

  • Patent number: 7389678
Abstract: The present invention relates to a column for performing analytical temperature rising elution fractionation (ATREF) characterized in that the packing of said column comprises elastic wires having a good elasticity and a good thermal conductivity. The present invention also relates to a device comprising the column according to the invention, a temperature controlling system for controlling the temperature of said column, a sample injector for injecting a polymer sample solution into said column, a pump for eluting the polymer fractions from said column and a detector for detecting eluting fractions of said sample solution. The present invention further relates to a method for performing ATREF analyses using the column according to the invention.
