    Abstract: A bi-focal corneal lens of uniform index of refraction, which is self-orienting, which is cut on a lathe with a lenticular attachment, so that the various curves can be cut in a minimum of passes. Mathematical equations are furnished to be fed to a computer, which calculates the parameters of the various curves in accordance with the data furnished by the optician so as to provide a lens with a maximal optical zone and a minimal thickness.
