  • Patent number: 4871813
Abstract: A polymer composition comprising (a) 99 to 75 weight percent of LLDPE and (b) 1 to 25 weight percent of a copolymer of propylene (CP) with 7 to 40 weight % o one or more C.sub.4 to C.sub.12 alpha-olefins and 0 to 10 weight % of ethylene. The propylene copolymer (CP) has a fusion enthalpy not more than 75 J/g. The composition is readily converted into uniform thickness film by extrusion blowing, and exhibits good hot tack strength during heat-sealing operations.

Date of Patent: October 3, 1989
    Assignee: BP Chemicals Limited
    Inventor: Alain Senez
  • Patent number: 4786688
Abstract: The invention concerns polyethylene compositions particularly adapted for the manufacture of film and hollow bodies by blow-moulding, characterized in that they contain(a) from 50 to 98% by weight of polyethylene of high density, of at least 0.940(b) from 2 to 50% by weight of a linear, low density polyethylene, with a density below 0.930.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 27, 1988

    Assignee: BP Chimie
Inventors: Jean P. Thiersault, Daniel Durand, Alain Senez
  • Patent number: 4774292
Abstract: The invention concerns polypropylene compositions with improved impact strength adapted for conversion to finished articles by extrusion drawing, extrusion blow-molding or thermoforming characterized in that they contain:(a) 40 to 98% by weight of isotactic polypropylene(b) 2 to 60% by weight of a copolymer of linear low density polyethylene type with a density of up to 0.935, obtained by copolymerizing a mixture of ethylene and one or more upper alpha-olefins, by a copolymerizing process at a pressure below 4.10.sup.6 Pa, in the absence of any liquid hydrocarbons.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 16, 1987
Date of Patent: September 27, 1988
    Assignee: BP Chemical Limited, plc.
Inventors: Jean P. Thiersault, Jean C. Roustant, Alain Senez
  • Patent number: 4634735

  • Patent number: 4460750
Abstract: The invention relates to a process of thermomechanical treatment in the molten state, in the presence of organic peroxides, of co-polymers with a density less than 0.935, obtained by co-polymerization under a pressure of less than 4 MP.sub.a of ethylene and a higher alpha-olefin. The co-polymers thus treated may advantageously be used for the manufacture of finished objects such as films according to the current techniques of conversion of "high pressure" type polyethylene.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 25, 1982
Date of Patent: July 17, 1984
    Assignee: BP Chimie S.A.
Inventors: Jean-Paul Thiersault, Alain Senez, Jean L. Vidal
