Abstract: Electronic locks can provide improved security over mechanical locks. Despite the improved security of electronic locks, there may be occasions where it is desirable to replace the electronic lock. Replacing an electronic lock can be expensive and challenging, particularly if the electronic lock is being replaced by a different electronic lock produced by a different manufacturer. The present disclosure relates to an electronic lock with a replaceable lock core that enables replacing the electronic lock core with a new electronic lock core without needing to replace the entire electronic lock. Further, through use of access controls managed by the electronic lock and electronic key combination, and the unique mechanical configurations disclosed herein, it is possible to replace an electronic lock core without compromising security of a device or location secured by the electronic lock.

Abstract: Systems, methods and devices for the monitoring of the metabolism and the health of cultured cells are disclosed. The devices simplify the loading of cells and enable loading under sterile conditions. The devices also allow for the culture, measuring and monitoring of the metabolism of a population of cells, and in particular, the accurate measuring of metabolic states simultaneously in multiple cell populations.

Abstract: An imaging system for reducing aberrations from an intervening medium, and an associated method of use are provided. The system may be an optical or task-based optical imaging system including optics, such as a phase mask, for imaging a wavefront of the system to an intermediate image and modifying phase of the wavefront such that an optical transfer function of the system is substantially invariant to focus-related aberrations from the medium. A detector detects the intermediate image, which is further processed by a decoder, removing phase effects from the optics and forming a final image substantially clear of the aberrations. Other systems may employ an encoder that codes wavefronts of acoustical waves propagating through a medium to make the wavefronts substantially invariant to acoustical aberrations from the medium. Imaging and decoding of the wavefronts reverse effects of the wavefront coding and produce sounds substantially free of the aberrations.

Abstract: A method for reducing optical distortion within an optical system employing adaptive optics, includes modifying phase of a wavefront of the optical system with a wavefront coding element. Image data of the optical system is post-processed to remove phase effects induced by the wavefront coding element, to reduce optical distortion caused by the adaptive optics and associated with one or more of quilting, stuck actuator and piston error.

Abstract: A safety accessory that can be used with skate boards is described. This accessory comprises two elements which are attached to the riding surface of the skate board and to the feet of the rider. This accessory permits the rider to exercise greater control during performances on the skate board. The releasable safety function of this accessory is particularly useful during the execution of acrobatics on the skate board and allows even the most inexperienced of riders to perform tricks normally executed by a skilled artisan of skate board riding.

Abstract: A microwave oven having an energy stirrer including a drive shaft extending through a wall of the oven is disclosed. A microwave energy seal in the form of a metallic disc is provided to prevent energy leakage at the drive shaft aperture.
