Patent number: 11858262Abstract: A fluid ejector for ejecting discrete volumes of ejectant includes a body with opposing first and second surfaces. One or more nozzles are defined as conduits extending through the body between the surfaces to connect first and second orifices at the first and second surfaces respectively. The fluid ejector further includes a gas supply means having a gas outlet and an ejectant supply means. The ejectant supply means supplies the ejectant to the nozzles at a pressure above ambient via their supply orifices. The supply orifice is defined in a conduit's side or is the second orifice. Relative movement of the gas supply means and body exposes first orifices to the gas outlet allowing the gas supply means to supply gas at a pressure above ambient, wherein a pressure difference thereby created between the first and second orifices causes ejection of the ejectant from the nozzles through the second orifices.Type: GrantFiled: February 15, 2017Date of Patent: January 2, 2024Assignee: ARCHIPELAGO TECHNOLOGY GROUP LTDInventors: Daniel Richard Mace, Neil Emerton, David Alan Crooks, Guy Charles Fernley Newcombe, Charlotte Giverny Pamela Joy Stokes, Theodore John Snudden

Patent number: 9027443Abstract: Razors are described herein. In some instances the razors include a safety razor blade unit that includes a guard, a cap, and at least two blades with parallel sharpened edges located between the guard and cap. A first blade defines a blade edge nearer the guard and a second blade defines a blade edge nearer the cap. The first blade has a cutter force greater than the cutter force of the second blade. In some instances the razors provide a comfortable shave having improved closeness.Type: GrantFiled: November 22, 2010Date of Patent: May 12, 2015Assignee: The Gillette CompanyInventors: Andrew Zhuk, Weili Yu, Hoang Mai Trankiem, Neville Sonnenberg, Kevin Leslie Powell, Yiqian Eric Liu, Robert L. Patent number: 7448135Abstract: Multi-blade razors are provided, having blades with differing properties. In one aspect, a razor is provided that includes a safety razor blade unit comprising a guard, a cap, and first, second and third blades with parallel sharpened edges located between the guard and cap with the first blade closest to the cap, the third blade furthest from the cap, and the second blade disposed between the first and third blades, the blades having first, second and third tip radii, respectively, at least two of the three blades having different tip radii, and at least two of the blades having different coefficients of friction.Type: GrantFiled: March 29, 2006Date of Patent: November 11, 2008Assignee: The Gillette CompanyInventors: Andrew Zhuk, Weili Yu, Hoang Mai Trankiem, Neville Sonnenberg, Kevin L. Patent number: 5416973Abstract: A safety razor blade unit has cap structure with upstanding fin elements directed perpendicular to the blade edges to define a cap surface featuring low frictional resistance characteristics during shaving. The fin elements are spaced at a pitch distance of 0.3 to 0.7 millimeter, are 0.3 to 1.0 millimeter in height and are substantially triangular in cross-section with an aspect ratio of 2:1 to 4:1.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 1993Date of Patent: May 23, 1995Assignee: The Gillette CompanyInventors: Frank E. Brown, Alan Crook, Oliver D. Oglesby, Brian Oldroyd
