  • Patent number: 8538787
Abstract: A service model of resources is created and the resources are mapped to a plurality of templates. The service model represents real-time characteristics of resources for an enterprise. Rule-based Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are then configured on the templates and thereby applied to the depicted resources, and the overall health of the system that utilizes the depicted resources depicted is determined. These KPI's can be chained in a way that allows the user a large amount of flexibility to report the metrics most relevant to the health of the business.

  • Publication number: 20080312982
Abstract: A service model of resources is dynamically created from a selected service model template. A user-input or incoming event selects one of multiple pre-defined service model templates for construction of a selected service model. The selected service model represents real-time characteristics of resources for an enterprise. External data sources, which are used to describe the real-time characteristics of the depicted resources, are then identified, and the service model is constructed using the identified external data sources.
