    Abstract: A quick change micro dispensing tip with disposable liner for dispensing liquid such as viscous and non-viscous adhesives in electronic component assembling. A multi-pin, positioning and locking mechanism attaches the dispensing tip to the dispensing pump. This feature increases the positioning accuracy and repeatability of coupling the tip of the pump. Additionally, the time is decreased in the coupling the tip and pump. Therefore, there exists minimal malfunction due to misalignment of pump with tip. The disposable inner liner of the quick change, micro tip is a simplified, disposable intermediary passage for the adhesive through the coupled dispensing tip with pump. This liner comprised of non-adhesive compatible, disposable material, is captive and supported by the shell of the quick change micro tip. Therefore, the liner does not require the strength necessary in current tips by incorporate the disposability necessary for cost reduction and rapid change overs between operations.

    Abstract: A recycling, pressure cleaning system for micro dispensing tips wherein the cleaning fluid is drawn into a plunger assembly from around the submerged, micro dispensing tip, and then, under high pressure created by pressing down on the plunger, the cleaning fluid is pressurized to move rapidly through the micro dispensing tip. This pressurized fluid moving rapidly through the tip and hypo combination, forces the removal of contaminants. The procedure is repeatable. The cleaning fluid(s) remain contained within the unit. The operator and surrounding environment are protected from release of the cleaning fluid(s) and/or contaminants. The entire top section of the cleaning unit is easily removed by rotating the top section a small amount from the bottom. This allows the operator ease in access to the micro dispensing tip during attachment, removal, and inspection. In addition, removal of the contaminated waste fluid and cleaning efficiency of the cleaning apparatus is increased.

    Abstract: A nozzle or tip for use in precision dispensing systems which provides a continuous, uninterrupted flow of fluid therethrough. The tip comprises a body having an inlet at one end adapted for connection to a dispensing head or pump and an outlet at the other end for positioning adjacent a location on the surface onto which the fluid is to be dispensed. A passage in the body of the tip connects the inlet to the outlet, and is shaped to conduct fluid from the inlet to the outlet in a continuous and uninterrupted manner. The passage has a converging portion extending from the inlet to an intermediate location in the body and a constant diameter portion joining the converging portion to the outlet. The body of the tip is of ceramic material, preferably injection molded ceramic material. The tip can be fitted in a metal housing which can be provided with a standoff pin for spacing the outlet end of the tip from the surface onto which fluid is to be dispensed.

    Abstract: A precision dispenser comprising a housing having a longitudinal axis, a chamber therein and an outlet from which a controlled amount of fluid leaves the chamber to be deposited on a surface. An impeller is mounted within the housing about the longitudinal axis thereof and is provided with a plurality of parabolic shaped impeller blades located within the chamber. Fluid is supplied from a source to the spaces between the impeller blades, preferably by a passage extending longitudinally along the impeller to one or more orifices located in the impeller between the blades. The impeller is rotated by a controlled drive motor to rotate the blades within the chamber to force fluid from the chamber through the outlet for delivery to the surface.
