  • Publication number: 20120177609
Abstract: A method for obtaining bacteriophages by stressing bacteria. The method involves isolating bacteria, propagating the bacteria, exposing the bacteria to at least one environmental stressing agent to induce excision of bacteriophage that are present in the bacterial genome. Multiple or individual environmental stressing agents may be applied. These liberated bacteriophages may be collected for purposes of treating pathogenic infections, protecting plants and agricultural products or general sterilization and sanitation.
    Type: Application
    Filed: March 21, 2012
    Publication date: July 12, 2012
    Applicant: INTERNALLE, INC.

  • Patent number: 7078220
Abstract: The invention provided herein includes novel gram negative bacteria cells containing the Hte mutation. Other aspects of the invention include methods for rendering gram negative bacterial cells bearing the Hte region, such as E. coli cells competent for DNA transformation using any of a variety of competency inducing procedures. The competent cells of the subject invention may be frozen so as to provide for prolonged storage.

  • Patent number: 6368821
Abstract: Methods are provided for infecting eukaryotic cells with a bacterial virus comprising introducing into the eukaryotic cell DNA that expresses a membrane receptor for a bacterial virus and exposing the cell to the bacterial virus. Eukaryotic cells that contain DNA that expresses a membrane receptor for a bacterial virus are also provided.
