Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention provides a method for performing a lateral flow assay. The method includes depositing a sample on a test strip at an application region, detecting a first detection signal arising from the test strip in the first detection zone, and generating a baseline for the first measurement zone by interpolating between values of the detection signal outside of the first measurement zone and inside of the first detection zone. The method may include locating a beginning boundary and an ending boundary for the first measurement zone on the test strip. Additional detection zones having measurement zones may also be incorporated with the embodiment.

Abstract: Novel methods, membrane supports and immunodiagnostic test kits for diagnosing Helicobacter pylori infection, are disclosed. The methods can also be used to monitor the progress of treatment of an infection. The methods, supports and kits employ both type-common and type-specific H. pylori antigens and can conveniently be performed in a single-step assay format. The methods provide for highly accurate results and discriminate between H. pylori Type I and H. pylori Type II infection so that an accurate diagnosis can be accomplished.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention feature a multilchambered cuvette having a first movement pattern and a second movement pattern, the first movement pattern comprises a stationary position and a rotation about a circular path. The second movement pattern comprises a rocking motion. The cuvette uses the first movement of fluid between chambers and a second movement pattern to effect mixing and incubation. The cuvette features a unitary housing having an opening over the first and second compartments to allow viewing and access.
