  • Patent number: 5859188
Abstract: The present invention provides a novel radioactive neuropeptide represented by the formula Lys-His-Glu-Tyr.sup.--I -Leu-Arg-Phe-amide. The invention also provides a method for detecting anthelmintic activity of a compound using the novel neuropeptide of the present invention in a receptor binding assay. The novel radioactive neuropeptide has potent bioactivity in Ascaris suum neuromuscular strips, and therefore is particularly useful for high volume screening for potential anthelmintic compounds.

  • Patent number: 5756458
Abstract: Novel GRF PEPTIDES having Thr, Val or Ile at position 2, having an amino acid selected from the group consisting of Ala, Val, Leu, Ile or Gly at position 15, and optionally substituted with Val or Ile at position 19 are described. Compositions and the method of stimulating the release of growth hormone utilizing GRF PEPTIDES having Thr, Val or Ile at position 2 and having an amino acid selected from the group consisting of Ala, Val, Leu, Ile or Gly at position 15 are also described. The GRF PEPTIDES of the present invention have enhanced stability in plasma.

  • Patent number: 4794768
Abstract: A push button combination lock type gas cap and an actuator forming a part thereof, takes the form of a casing which may be mounted to an open end of a fuel tank filling neck with a stopper mounted within the casing for movement between a first position in which the cap is removable from the filler neck, and a second position where the cap is locked thereto. A first center push button mounted on the casing for movement in the direction of its axis between projected and depressed position, shifts the stopper to the first position for locking the cap to the filler tube upon depression thereof. The first push button is maintained in depressed position with a laterally shiftable slide plate operatively engaging the first push button for normally preventing retraction of the first push button absent a selective depression of one or more of a plurality of second push buttons mounted circumferentially about the center push button.

  • Patent number: 3947591
Abstract: Novel pesticidal compounds of the formula: ##SPC1##Wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are the same or different and are selected from the group consisting of lower alkyl of from 1 to 4 carbon atoms; R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are the same or different and are selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, halogen, and lower alkyl of from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, n = 1 or 2 provided that when n is 2 then R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are the same as R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are the same. The compounds are combined with carriers to prepare compositions and are useful in controlling insect pests either as an insecticide or behavioral modifier and are particularly effective as miticides.
