  • Patent number: 8769032
Abstract: A method for communicating information includes ranking, by a central processing server, one or more available communication modes according to a context of a recipient of a communication and one or more rules. The ranked available communication modes may be communicated to a sender of the communication. The context of the recipient corresponds to the availability of the recipient and/or the location of the recipient. The available communication modes correspond to capabilities associated with devices that are in proximity with the recipient. Whether devices are in proximity with the recipient is accomplished by locating the devices via a device location server. The communication modes may be ranked according to a cost and/or appropriateness of the available communication modes.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 3, 2009
Date of Patent: July 1, 2014
    Assignee: Cisco Technology, Inc.
Inventors: Sean M. Ginevan, Jesse W. Lindeman, Jameson F. Blandford, Alan S. Cohen

  • Patent number: 4816388
Abstract: Recombinant human prealbumin and a method for producing such human prealbumin through recombinant DNA techniques including preparation and isolation of a cDNA sequence coding for human prealbumin, construction of a cloning vector and an expression vector containing said cDNA sequence, and expression of human prealbumin in a prokaryotic cell transformed by said expression vector are disclosed. The invention further relates to the use of human prealbumin cDNA in the diagnosis by hybridization methodologies of medical conditions with which variant forms of prealbumin are associated. Also disclosed is a method for diagnosing some Type I familial amyloid polyneuropathies by a restriction endonuclease assay with an enzyme which recognizes the nucleotide base sequence 5'-ATGCAT-3'.
