  • Publication number: 20180193097
Abstract: Methods and devices to track patient anatomy during a surgical operation. A patient reference device is attached to an anatomical feature of a patient and it includes an attachment base and an optically-trackable array detectable by an optical navigation system and having a longitudinally-extending arm to space apart the fixed geometric pattern from the anatomical feature. The arm includes a connector to be detachably secured to the attachment base. An inertial measurement unit within the attachment base enables determining, based on comparing a threshold level to a motion signal, that the attachment base has changed position, wherein the motion signal represents the change in position and its magnitude. Based on determining that the attachment base has changed position an alarm signal is generated an and an output device in the attachment base outputs an alarm in response to the alarm signal.

  • Patent number: 9699469
Abstract: A solution for adaptively processing a digital image with reduced color resolution is described herein. A source device pre-processes a video frame with reduce color resolution by remapping luma components and chroma components of the video frame, and encodes the pre-processed video frame. The source device remaps a half of luma components on a scan line of the video frame onto a data channel of a source line to an encoder and remaps the other half of the luma components on the scan line to another data channel of the source line. The source device remaps the corresponding chroma components onto a third data channel of a source line. By using a data channel conventionally configured to transmit chroma components, the solution enables a video codec to adaptively encode a digital image with reduced color resolution without converting the digital image to full color resolution before the encoding.

  • Patent number: 9419455
Abstract: A multimode battery charger circuit supporting switch mode and linear mode charging operations. In various embodiments, the multimode battery charging circuit includes mode control circuitry, a linear gate driver, a pulse width modulation (PWM) control circuit, a programmable constant current control loop circuit, and a programmable constant voltage control loop circuit. In operation, the mode control circuitry receives a charge mode indication signal corresponding to a desired charge mode. Based on this signal, the mode control circuitry enables either the linear gate driver or PWM control circuit to provide control signals to output transistors coupled between an adapter power port and a battery pack, thereby supporting a plurality of charging modes. In some embodiments, one or more of the output transistors are formed on a common substrate with the multimode battery charger circuit.

  • Patent number: 9290901
Abstract: The disclosure describes, in part, apparatuses and methods for installing structures (e.g., foundations, footings, anchors, abutments, etc.) at work sites, such as difficult-access work sites. In some instances, a rotating drill assembly is assembled over a target location in order to excavate a radial array of batter-angled shafts associated with the target location in preparation for the installation of a radial array of micropiles. An operator utilizes the rotating drill in combination with a foundation pile schedule/decision matrix to design and install the radial array of batter-angled micropiles. This disclosure also describes techniques for designing, fabricating and installing structural caps to be coupled to the installed radial array batter angled micropiles. These structural caps are lightweight and, thus, more portable to difficult-access sites where they are coupled to the micropiles forming a foundation for structure to be installed at the difficult-access site.

  • Publication number: 20160054465
Abstract: A method of spectrum restoring and broadening to produce high resolution seismic data from a plurality of shot records in a seismic survey is described. The method includes the steps of: dividing each shot record into a plurality of windows, in which each of the relevant variables is practically constant, and wherein each window contains one or more trace segments; forward modelling of spectral signatures for any ghost reflections in the shot records using a best estimate of all known parameters, such that every trace segment will have an observed and a (prior) modelled spectral signature; calculating an inverse operator to correct the spectral notches in every trace segment using a constrained set of final fitted values for all the relevant variables; and, recombining the processed trace segments to produce a final set of shot records whereby, in use, the deleterious effects of the ghost reflections in the shot records can be substantially eliminated.
